  What many people of an ideological bent saw immediately these policies were announced is that they don't square with the "conservative" nature of the party that was touting them. I think the party wonks know that themselves that is why these days you don't hear of the British inspired "property owning democracy" slogan that the NPP copied from the Tories.
  
  But, of course, in our country, the ideological fault lines between the two parties are not clear cut. There are really no pure socialist parties and no pure conservative ones but it's true that a liberal party that says it will create one factory in each district, give each constituency a million dollars, institute free SHS (for all???) is really cutting it deep the other way. It's like the Tories outlabouring Labour.
  
  But it's too early to be making predictions. Strange concoctions can work magic at times. Let's just wait and see...

It is only an ideological moron who will dismiss the one district one factory program. After all not all the districts have what it takes to succeed, but the government is aware and is ready to address such issues when they arise. I was one of those who for example doubted how this One-Village-One-Dam message but after brooding over it some time, I have come out with an idea where the government can undertake it without spending a penny and this has even being boosted by the numerous excavators now idle in the country.
  For me where the Government goofed is the early implementation of the Free SHS program. I'd rather they had invested the money in irrigation and preparation of farmlands to reduce the cost of food in-country.
  Massa, you only have to be an NDC supporter to wish that all this ideas are not achievablle.

  The Nana Akufo-Addo one district one factory proposal is nothing but a misguided and elementary level attempt to lay down political conduits for stealing taxpayer money and at best lay a foundation for NPP organizational supremacy at the local government and community level.
  The communist foundations behind the one district one factory goes against the Busia-Danquah ideology that has been the basis for UP/matemeho/ dumbo/NPP terror activities in Ghana to date. Secondly the idea presupposes that the Ghanaian voting public are dumb or at the very minimum a bunch of kokoase folks with short memory. To me, it's a sly use of the political dishonesty tool to say the years of attempting to label CPP ideas and ideals as failed communist ideology was fake after all without ever calling out NPP falsehoods and fallacies. I submit to readers that the main intent of the Nana Akufo-Addo /Bawumia one district one factory gimmick was to use the designated $1 million to setup local NPP political structures that will require loyalty and boost NPP membership at each local level. With $1 million free government money at their disposal, ignorant NPP loyalists and terror groups get to play political kingmakers and the power to pick winners and losers at the game of business startups that will get to transact business with the sole but fake factory at the district level. Let's be real here. What businesses in most of the district across Ghana do have combined assests of $100,000? So a $1million in the hands of these ignorant and lying NPP folks would be equivalent to giving a box of match sticks to pyromaniacs with a can of gasoline in communities where heated and false rumours can lead to results such as what happened in Obuase.
  The duo partnership of Akufo-Addo-Bawumia is just what Ghana ordered; classroom educated political elite without shame, principles or moral compass and incapable of admitting their long held belief about communist ideals to be wrong. It is easy to be dishonest, take money from communist China to help a delusional Ghana democracy, sell or dismantle CPP era communist structures and setup new communist structures under the NPP and still claim success under a delusional NPP democratic government.

  This writer is clearly preaching a defunct economic principle based on socialist/communist ideology.Experience has shown that individuals and cooperate bodies are able to manage businesses better that governments.The Russian tried the state enterprises and failed woefully.The Chinese learnt from this mistake and turned to private companies hence their successes.This writer must understand that,any investor that comes to Ghana under this scheme will come for his success.The government can not negotiate with any potential investor from a position of strength and therefore the cry that the Ghanaian worker will be worst off is not sensible.The Chinese experience this as he himself(the writer) wrote, however through this initiative an enhanced atmosphere could be created for development.

Again things are the way they are now because supply of labour overly exceed demand because of limited industries. How about we having a lot of factories in the country where one really has the power of choice because there are many options. Lastly, how many state-owned enterprises did we have at our independence and how many remain so today and by the way have you considered how the remnants of these enterprises are managed vis-a-vis private companies?

Our political practice implements anything that brings improvement to the lives of the masses. But more often than not, these laudable ideas are suffocated by corruption. What has indeed contributed and impede our failure, as a nation, is corruption. We can succeed in any social intervention if we remove this canker. Under Akuffo Addo, this will be done.
