People, that is what you get when you elect educated but senseless people into power. Osafo Maafo's utterances clearly show that his thinking is shallow, just like Bawumia's. The Big question is where the President stands amidst all this incapacity? Atiwa should not be sacrificed. Ghanaians must speak out!

After sacking the Chinese for destroying our forest cover and water bodies through galamsey activities, our leaders then go to them cup in hand for $15bn or $19bn in exchange of Atiwa forest reserve for exploitation by these same chinese. In case our leaders do not know how bauxite is mined, a broader consultation would help. Bauxite can only be mined by cutting down the timbers and removing the the forest cover and the soil overburden to expose the red earth material called bauxite ore. Excavators and dump trucks mine and haul the red earth to treatment plant. Can you imagine the volume of sediments that will choke our water bodies through erosion ? Oh my God,the chemical spillages into our three rivers, reduction in air quality, loss of flora and fauna(plant and animal species)and change in climatic condition. If job creation is a motivation for the deal, we better think twice because the chinese will bring even their cleaners. We can get the money to spend now but the repurcussions are dire. Ing. it is unfortunate that the government just like we the citizens for not care about the environment. Do we as a country understand what sustainable development is? why is the government adhering to principles of weak sustainability by placing such merge 15billion USD value on Atiwa forest then mortgaging to the Chinese. Mr President environmental protection is an integral part of economic development where they mutually reinforce one another so the present 10000 jobs which your senior minister is talking to be created now will definitely compromis the ability of future generations to also meet their dreams and well being and technology can compensate for this act.
Thank you
