Your argument still points to a culture of silence when thieves are lynched. This is a tradition in Ghana, if you steal and get caught, are gay and get caught, it's almost acceptable to get lynched. No one has been brought to book by the law thus the pervasiveness. The culture of silence, lack of legal ramifications means it's part of our culture.

Folks:we totally misunderstood the whole context okay;lynching is not part of culture alright.if ur a menace where there is lawlessness, and lack of law enforcement between citizenry and our law maker..i.e; Myself i almost became a victim at east legon.it is because our law maker fail to enforce our broken law and. Asking our law enforcement taking advantage of not doing their work.A police woman or man can stand by watching someone committing crime .it is because she/he might having perception that, after all;our judicial system is being corrupted with goat ,plantain, chickens and money why does she/he have to bother.let me use this case point; In New York and Montreal mob (mafia)almost took over these cities but because these city officials did not backed down these mom killing were stop, almost mob (godfathers) were arrested and put into jail for life imprisonment and all their member went hiding. The same think work Kuklius Klan(KKK).So,mob attack are not part of culture but barbaric act that if we tackle it will stop

There are no sources? Please read organizational and leadership by Edgar Schein and you will agree with Otabil. Culture is taught to new entrants and learned. It has tools and symbols - cement blocks, sticks, matches etc it has alpha male like assemblyman. The patterns are similar like aboakyere where the deer is not multilated but given an opportunity to speak. The Boko Haram and Isis culture is the same the medieval rule of taking no prisoners.

Candidly, I think the pastor should have waited a little while before giving his erudite pontification of cultural dimensions of lynching. Many of us have something to say about that, but not while we are grieving.
