What has our country descended into? Whose idea was it in Ghana to introduce these so called assemble men. When I was growing up in Ghana, there was a chief in every village and they saw to the law and order in their towns and villages. How come now that has changed to electing assemble men? Most of these young men tend not to have much education-do not understand how the rule of law works and are just out to be laws unto themselves.If this assemble man knows anything like the rule of law, he should have protected the young soldier and send for the police, but instead he joined in the lynching or stood by.How then can we have pea brained people like him to be incharge or lead communities? This sad incident should make the government think about appointing these assemble men or give them a thorough training in law and order.
My condolences to the young soldier's wife, the children who have been left fatherlessand his family. He could have been any mother's son, cousin,uncle,brother and this has touched our hearts deeply. Rest in peace and may those he has left behind find consolation in prayers.
