The implication of the events taking place and shape in Ghana under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration does not bode well for Ghana. For years we have heard from NPP stalwarts confer on Akufo-Addo some amount of intellect and wisdom that seem to be based on sand castles or fallacies. What does it mean when the much touted lawyer has no respect for the courts and or if the Ghana Supreme Court headed by an outgoing Chief Justice, Ms Georgina Woods, could seek the imprisonment of radio journalists or personalities for speaking ill of the Justices but stay mum on acts of a terror group, Delta force of the NPP, inside a courthouse?
When did we get to be this ignorant in Ghana that the AG would think acts of terror in a courtroom does not constitute affront to the courts and or disrespect for the laws of Ghana? If the President of Ghana did not buy his so-called law license or did not find the license as a gift in a cracker Jack box he would not sit around while his party of classroom educated but ignorant folks, the NPP, show utter disdain for Ghana with the kind of kokoase decision by the AG.

Every Ghanaian leader who has no extensive foreign exposure through work or otherwise cannot transform the country. These home breed leaders are limited intellectually and cognitively adrift. These local breed leaders have no reference point to guide their worldview. In other words, the Ghanaian culture which of course is inimical to progress is so much ingrained in them.
Anyone who doubts my proposition should look no further than all the locally bred leaders; JJ Rawlings, JA Kufuor, Atta Mills, JD Mahama and this one Akufo-Addo. They lack discipline and conviction of purpose. They speak eloquently but lack substance. In short, these local breed are not refined - they are crude as the culture
The culture is our nemesis, and unless there is 'culture' revolution as happened in China during Chairman Mao's time, whatever Ghanaians do will be an exercise in futility.
Mind you, change has never come from within; change always comes from without and it behooves on those of us who have lived and worked extensively in abroad to go home and effect change.
