Well done, Jamila for a good article. Unfortunately, your article is too Accra-centric. Next time add to it some research from cities such as Takoradi, Sunyani, Kumasi etc so we can have a feel for the situation across the country. Some of us who are not from Accra are sometimes worried about the fact that our focus is always on Accra which results in a development strategy for the country that is focused solely on Accra. This is constructive criticism based on genuine concern and is not intended to be offensive in any way. Well done, Jamila for a well written article. Keep up the good work but please remember those of us who don't live in Accra.

Our thanks to Jamila Akweley Okertchiri for this research-based report on rural-urban migration and its significance for the person and country. Much of it of course has to do with biased/Accra-centered development strategy.

The report on the research is unusual, bit seriously welcome.
Fact is, there are many trained artisans all over Ghana, from every village, town and city. But, clearly, there is not enough government sponsored work and private development by Diasporans, for all the artisans, outside Accra. Those in Accra and the biggest cities make more money, and the nearer they are to those major urban centers, to Accra in particular, the more the will earn on account the artisan can travel back to work on projects in their hometowns, and return to Accra upon completion, on Monday.
A good read!
Informative, actually!
Peace.

The report on the research like I have said is unusual, but seriously welcome, however my question to Divine is, why didn't he rather go to Togo/Lome as an Ewe where he could understand the people better?
