The history and story of La as a great traditional enclave engrossed with history and tradition is yet to be told.You have started the conversation on a bright note but mentioning La maamli of old and La maamli of today tells of a sad story.
Bortor or La beach as is used to be called had a serene white beach jutting right in to the distance with huts and holiday bars for the locals and tourists.Today the town La is a shadow of of its former self and it seems like it has been encapsulated in a time capsule.
deterioration can be seen all over the township and progress had elude La.Let the traditional council and the people of La,and there are many greats from there,say for once that La is the center of the capital and therefore needs attention and development.
