What is amusing here is that in this particular instance, the apparent offence is one of a group of people who are wary of the assurances by the GMO industry that their toxic pesticides and Frankenstein GMO inventions are substantially equivalent to the food that we know and love!
If Kwame Okoampa is not a foolish man, he would never have asked the FSG to produce organic foods before complaining about GM foods! Monsanto's DDT was considered to be highly toxic. Irrespective of whatever good it was intended to serve, Okoampa's argument sounds like those who don't like DDT must first come out with less harmful pesticides!
The saddest part of this stupidity is that experts all over the world are clearly down-playing the role of GM foods in the future food needs of the world. Rather, they point to organic, less expensive inputs, and agroecology.
No one needs to feed the whole country before they point out that GMOs is a 419 by the corporate industry! Kwasea!!!

Common sense is of essence here: that is it would be better to have Ghanaians die of genetically modified foods, for a long term, than to starve our people to die in some few months. Ghanaians are hungry, and as we speak now, most of the food on our markets - tomatoes from Burkina and most of the some 60% imported foods - are genetically modified. so what is the big deal if we can follow the flow, and allow my people to be self sufficient, as far as food security is concerned? Producing more food, for now is the only solution to quench the starvation of my people.we need to go the scientific way even if that would reduce the average lifespan of every Ghanaian to, say, 60-years for now. Maybe the so called Advocate Groups should be more concern of the carbon emission and the Galamsey activities that is silently killing thousands of my people. Some of you buffoons must use your heads.
