Long time, Ekow Nelson
True, Ghana has a Founder.
And Kwame Nkrumah is the Founder of Ghana
READ: "...The current geographic borders of Ghana that integrate parts of what was Trans-Volta Togoland for example were negotiated by Nkrumah. It was Nkrumah who stopped separatists from dismembering and balkanizing the country as we know it. If the so-called Big Six had their way in 1956 Ghana would not look anything like what we know today. In its administrative structure, organization and physical boundaries, the idea of Ghana as we know it today is, by and large, Nkrumah's creation."
WE SAY: 'Nuff said.
We can all take authoritative Ekow Nelson to the bank of our choice.

First off, this particular author is not a member of any political party or organization in Ghana. He is rather non-aligned as far as his political persuasion is concerned.
It should be clear to those who visit Ghanaweb by now—especially the Feature/Opinion page—that some cowardly, unscrupulous persons are in the habit of stealing some columnists’ monikers and names to promote their ethnocentric agenda as well as to create public disaffection for those columnists whose virtual identities they steal.
This author, Francis Kwarteng, and his friends Andy C.Y. Kwawukume and Prof Lungu and Dr. Michael Bokor, have notably been at the receiving of habitual virtual impersonation in the past few weeks.
Why are some in the habit of stealing monikers and names to harass others?
Well, one theory for this habitual virtual impersonation probably stems from the fact that these impersonators are uncomfortable with the highly educated, well-informed ideas of the afore-referenced names and therefore hoping to neutralize the pronounced presence of these corpus of writings on Ghanaweb, these shameless ethnocentric, childish and largely uninformed impersonators have resorted to doing everything in their power to contaminate these rich writings with their crude ignorance about issues.
The other theory could point to the mental and emotional instability of these truanting impersonators, or to the fact that they are school children new to the phenomenon of social media and computers.
These school children, who are incapable of serious, independent thought and ideational condensation, essentially have taken to social media as a playground or a candy store where they ply their trade in virtual vagabondage.
It is, therefore, unpardonable that the parents of these school children will shirk their responsibility of effectively monitoring the wayward behavior of these nauseous urchins on social media.
But their intimidating posturing is also turning out to be their undoing, a fact lost on them.
In other words their tactical approach to creating public disaffection for the general readership of Ghanaweb, particularly where the dedicated readers of Prof Lungu and Andy-K and Francis Kwarteng and Dr. Michael Bokor are concerned, has become counterproductive in that those columnists, aforementioned, under whose articles these urchins appear with their corpus of childish comments and rants are able to see through their shenanigans.
One particular impersonator is fond of appearing on Ghanaweb under this author’s name, Francis Kwarteng, and signing off his rabid ethnocentric rants and insults by including this author’s email address just to create an aura of virtual authenticity to deceive other commentators. This lame, frustrated attempt to create public disaffection for this author will neither wash with us nor with our core dedicated readership.
That is, we take strong exception to our email address being attached to these phony comments. These online-trolling milquetoasts are enemies of progress whose place is the dustbin of controlled chaos.
Unfortunately, the editors at Ghanaweb are not doing enough to rein in these milquetoasts known for their pell-mell intrusions into important matters of public discourse and policy. This does not augur well for promoting intellectual decency in the public space.
The editors need to wake up and do something about this problem, since some of the comments these virtual truants make threaten the very foundation of poly-ethnic amity. Which is to say, our unitary country does not deserve this.
Still, it appears not to have dawned on these uninformed, clueless urchins that their virtual impersonating of columnists will not succeed in turning away this author, Dr. Michael Bokor, Prof Lungu, and Andy-K from their ossified philosophical, ideological and political convictions.
Against this backdrop, we shall implore all those Ghanaweb columnists and commentators under whose writings these impersonators appear to ignore their virtual presence, their ethnocentric insults, harassment, and rants.
For, it will be highly unthinkable for anyone who is intimately or deeply familiar with this columnist’s unique writer identity and linguistic fingerprint to, as matter of fact, associate his virtual profile and wide-ranging philosophical, political convictions with those of these asocial, parochial truants on social media.
After all, those who follow us on all the major Ghana-based web portals where we publish regularly and happen to also closely read our articles know we do not promote one ethnic group or culture above others, for these followers intimately know that we have always made social inclusion, gender equity, ethnic and racial equality the running threads of our philosophical worldview.
Perhaps, most significantly, the general readership of Ghanaweb should have known by now that we uncompromisingly eschew extreme political partisanship, ethnocentrism, racism, destructive engagement, and unproductive intolerance insofar as rhetorical engagement and public discourse go!
Let us therefore learn to respect and tolerate each other’s opinion even where we vehemently disagree.
“Agreeing to disagree” is probably more important today than ever!
Anyway we shall continue to write for Ghanaweb nonetheless! No one will stop us, and we mean it!
Thank you!
We shall return…

Amazingly, Nkrumah being an nzima knew far better about this Ghana empire thing. The Nzulezo (those people living on stilt water) people, a sect in Nzima, have their verifiable oral history from Ghana empire to present day Nzulezo (in Ghana). After the break-out from the Ghana empire they journeyed to what was to later become the Mali empire (specifically they settled in Walata). You just have to go as tourist to Nzulezo, they will tell you they come from Walata in Mali (because they don't even know that Walata is now part of present day Mauritania)
Nkrumah knew all these whilst growing up in Nzemaa (he did not even need any one to lecture him on that- that nzemas come from old ghana and for that matter akans...)
I think Nkrumah was only being nice to JB Danquah, knowing that JB has grown strong hatred towards him (Nkrumah)

Dear Brother Ekow, this is beautiful, powerful, wonderful and convincing presentation in honour and defence of the OSAGYEFO.Myself I am a PanAfrikanist and Nkrumaist beyond compare but with deeper understanding of life racial dynamics and the situation of Afrikan people in the world I have to love and admire all our great elders and fathers who made up the BIG SIX. Ekow my question to you and Kwesi Pratt and others is, what do we lose as a nation if and when we recognise and honour all our great Fathers and Mothers involved in the struggle for our independence? What do we lose if and when give some credit to the remaining FIVE of BIG SIX? What unpardonable crime did the other FIVE great ancestors of the BIG SIX commit? Why has it been so easy for the Ghanaian and Afrikan to forgive and forget the unpardonable crimes of the white and arabs against us but we cannot forgive our own people?I ask again what crime did the remaining FIVE of the BIG SIX commit? OSAGYEFO KWAME NKRUMAH already stands tall in Ghana,Afrika,at the AU head of in Ethiopia and in the world, no one can do anything to erase his great memory not all.So if we are so confident in the OSAGYEFO while should feel threaten by the recognition of others of our people who also contributed big or small to liberation? On the historic day 6th March 1957, when the OSAGYEFO was declaring our indepedence was he on stage alone? So tell me why for example we should not honour and celebrate GBEDEMAH too? To all those who say they believe in NKRUMAH, his work and dreamn was to unite Afrikan people everywhere.I think if the OSAGYEFO have had the opportunity to return to Ghana after coup, I trust that he would have than many things differently. It is sad for me for instance to think that our great father JB Danquah died in prison under his leadership because I can feel NKRUMAIST heart as a true PanAfrikanist and I know he did not mean bad and did not want it that way.And those that threw bombs at him may have had a different thought when given a second chance. This is why I am appealing to all who call themselves Nkrumaist to accept and respect the contribution of others to the great effort of the OSAGYEFO.IT IS TIME TO BURY OUR DIFFERENCES TO UNITE OUR BELOVED NATION FOR OUR COMMON GOOD AND PROSPERITY AND THE TIME TO DO SO IS NOW.THANK YOU.

When these history revisionist talk about UGCC they act as though the UGCC had existed ages before Nkrumah joined them. The fact is the UGCC was formed in August 1947 and Kwame Nkrumah joined them ONLY 5 months later in December 1947.
These boys or men's club were clueless as to what to do so in their desperation the interim secretary Ako Adjei who knew and interacted with Nkrumah in Pennsylvania University suggested to Paa Grant the Sekondi-Takoradi business man who was pivotal in the formation of UGCC to hire Nkrumah who was already making gale winds in the UK. Again it was Paa Grant who footed the bill to bring Nkrumah home not pennyless Danquah.
Nkrumah upon arriving in December 1947 began to rock the boat of Gold Coast by holding rallies that supported the AWAM riots going on in Febuary of 1948. No sooner said than done. Nkrumah followed through with his words by stirring up the rebellion and would soon found himself behind bars. As fate will have it, he was even disowned by these bunch of bedwetters. The British separated the wheat from the chaff and Nkrumah was taken further north to Lawra from Kumasi where other five and he were first imprisoned.
If one follows the timeline chronologically it is clear that from the get go i.e. the day Nkrumah stepped on the soil of the Gold Coast until his separation from the chaff of 5 on June 12,1949 to announce the birth of CPP was roundabout 18 months approximately one and half years. So why all the fuss about UGCC when it was Nkrumah who made them well known? They were all riding on the back of Nkrumah but when trouble occurs these scaredy-pants put all the blame on Nkrumah. Se yen aka nkyere wo in Akan parlance we told you so that this guy is a trouble maker. These sunny boys and wanna be leaders will not trade their comfort zones for the struggle to regain independence.
Even the British put Nkrumah behind bars during the 1951 elections to give these house negroes a head start but even with Nkrumah behind bars he came from behind and won 34 out of 38 seats hands down. Please note even Danquah's wife jumped ship to joined Nkrumah in 1954 to become the first woman parliamentarian in the Gold Coast. From then on Danquah was relegated and Busia took over helms of affairs. Here is why - Danquah failed to win his seat in his own Akyem backyard in both 1954 and 1956 elections respectively. He again woefully failed in 1956 TVT plebiscite and 1960 presidential elections. So when all is said and and done Danquah was a complete failure. Danquah's ideas if he had any were already Dead on Arrival. With his mantra independence soon in my life time when Nkrumah was advocating for Independence NOW it was obvious and the difference is clear like day and night that Nkrumah will carry the day. It was Nkrumah's 18 letter word "Motion of Destiny" on 10th July 1953 that set the road map for the independence of Ghana. period! Ghana has a founder, his name is set in stone - KWAME NKRUMAH.

Well, Francis (Nkrumah's English namesake) I have been hanging on in there and watching you guys from the fringes or if you may permit like a coach on the sidelines for the good job you have been delivering on the field.
I am totally convinced and firmly believe that these revisionist cannot in any way tarnish the solid in stone written name of Nkrumah as founder of Ghana and his vanguard role for African Unity. These are real hard facts not alternative ones.
You cannot destroy Kwame Nkrumah that is a colossal uphill task. Are you going to destroy Akosombo dam and largest man-made lake in the world? Are you going to destroy Tema Harbour, township with its industrial base? Are you going to destroy the Tema motor way? Are you going to destroy Tema steel works? Are you going to destroy Tema Oil Refinery or Ghana cement works? Are you going to destroy the State House? Are you going to destroy the Black Star Square and the ring road? Are you going to destroy the ministries in Accra? Are you going to destroy the Trade fair premises and the Accra airport? Are you going to destroy Peduase lodge? Are you going to destroy Cape Coast university and KNUST? Are you going to to destroy institutions like Bank of Ghana, State Insurance Corp, Ghana commercial Bank, Ghana News Agency, Ghana Navy? Are going to destroy the numerous primary, secondary and teachers, nursing training he built? Are you going to destroy KATH and other hospitals? Are you going to destroy the statue of Nkrumah in the forecourt AU in Addis Abeba? Are you going to deny Nkrumah of his posthumous title as Africa's man of the millennium? I can go on and on throughout the regions of Ghana and you will see this is an uphill task. So Francis when my maker calls me one day which is inevitable I can go and rest in peace with the thought that all is well in Nkrumah's Ghana and as always Nkrumah never dies until my last breath.

Nkrumah even though exiled, he was invited by the first President of Guinea to be the substantive vice of Guinea (can you imagine how good Nkrumah was to be invited by another head of state who is willing make him his vice). Nkrumah declined the offer but stayed in Guinea he was well taken care of, and he contributed well to the development of guinea until he died.
Your faggot JB Danquah, the murderer, was genuinely the most selfish Ghanaian ever born. Nkrumah saved ghana from oppression, JB and Busia wanted as to be treated like animals..
Use your brains a little bit. When you wrongfully chase someone away does not me the chased is wrong..If Ghanaians have realized that they were wrong and will now revel Nkrumah so be it!
And you dumb should go and learn facts .

The evolution of this nation from the colonial era to the present time only indicates that we have heroes who contributed to our unique travel on this journey culminating in independence and the renaming of the Gold Coast as Ghana! Our history clearly shows that we have no single founder and no such a person should therefore be foisted on us. I will certainly will not accept one!!

A well researched and outlined piece but the it is my humbly conclution, just from reading your article, that Ghana indeed has founding fathers who,at different times and to different extends, played their own part to Ghana's birth.Ghana's anthem rightly states...our heritage won for us through the blood and toil of OUR FATHERS.Let Ghana then honour these FATHERS(not FATHER) who's collective sperm gave life to the Ghana dream.

So-called "Big Six" Myth Shatter
READ: So, isn't it rather breathtakingly hypocritical that while the U.G.C.C. leadership washed its hands off the 1948 riots and blamed Nkrumah for the disturbances that led to their arrests, 52 years on, their supporters wish to claim credit for triggering the process that advanced the march toward independence? Without the 1948 riots, it is unlikely the constitutional process under the Coussey Constitutional Commission (from which Nkrumah and the Trades Unions were excluded) would have been initiated as soon as they were. The reality though is the political protagonists who earned the sobriquet. The Big Six™ as a result, played no role in the events."
WE SAY: Talking a Constitution?
"2-PEAT": "....U.G.C.C. leadership washed its hands off the 1948 riots and blamed Nkrumah...", the most important, seminal event in colonial Gold Coat, on the road to independent Ghana, through vigorous agitation..."INDEPENDENCE NOW"!
