What is even more pathetic is the so called NPP-USA ( can't even believe why people in USA will not think correctly): they wrote (to paraphrase)"....Because of the fact that Nzemas are not plenty in number that is why they stood for every Ghanaian is equal; and now that Nzemas have oil, are now trying to run away from that believe-that nzemas want all inclusive government"... Meanwhile, they cannot chastise Osafo Maafo for saying qualified indigene should be allowed to control resources found in their area.
The whole article written by the so called NPP-USA, exposes their bigotry (it even shows that the hierarchy of the NPP-USA is made up of Asante-akyems alone)..

The Paramount Chief of the Nsein Trawithdrawal of his opposition to the appointmentditional Area has caused a big blow to the reputation of Chiefs in Ghana by the absurd reasons he has offerred for his withdrawal of his opposition to Dr. Asante's appointment as CEO of the Ghana Gas Company. His unfortunate careless effusions and rash behaviour constitute a wanton display ethnocentrism. A self-respecting Chief would not hold a press conference to castigate an important Government Appointee only to withdraw his opposition to the appointment barely a week later when the said Appointee sends a powerful delegation to his Queen Mother's funeral. It's a big shame!

From what you've written it seems you don't understand protocol..
First, notice that Dr. Asante saw the magnitude of the chiefs' position to the extend that the only good place to occasion one of the important chiefs is at Obahemaa's funeral.
It means that Dr. Asante being a scholar understood the chiefs stance without attaching any biases to it (except of course you who thinks the chief is being a ethnocentric)
Secondly, the chief showed his real intention (as protected by law that he can lobby for someone who to his best judgement fit for that same position "...understand the socio-political terrain of the people...").
That he (the chief) knowing that he's invariably part of counselling and constitutive part of government can put forward a candidate (taking into account the political terrain of Ghana); by also hammering the fact that his (chief) benign stance does not in anyway undermine the presidents powers to appoint (after all Dr. Asante is only a caretaker not yet the substantive CEO).
So please! As Ghanaians, we must show smartness in our analysis...
From this, it appears you're the one who's rushed. You've made yourself God (by even doing away with all what the chiefs said including the latest one said by the Nsein chief) to say that in the chiefs' minds eye they think what you (uncle Ben) think.
Be reasonable, logic and plain in your analysis without putting your own impressions in peoples articles
