I listened to a radio show on Peacefm called Kookrokoo, hosted by Kwame Sefa Kayi. The host purported to say that the actions of the task force is improper, in his view, their actions should have been preceded by letters to those found to be in possession of state vehicles to return them. This is where I disagree with Sefa-Kayi. Once a puclic statement has been issued by the Chief of staff and carried in the various media networks, personal letters to the 'culprits' will be superfluous. If the 'culprits' are 1000 in number, is Chief of Staff going to write 1000 letters? THE QUESSTION WE SHOULD ASK OURSELVES IS, WHY SHOULD THEY TAKE THE VEHICLES AWAY? Did we hear of Obama appointees taking any vehicles? Ghanaians are not serious and law abiding in general. I would have expected Sefa-Kayi to use his platform to advise all those 'culprits' to return the state vehicles and not sort to question the properness of the Task Force action.
In fact those found to be still in possession of the vehicles must be prosecuted.

The sheer hypocrisy of humans is frightening. NDC came to power in 2009 and started seizing cars that were in the possession of NPP members who had gone into opposition. the seizures occurred in broad day light right in the streets with the dreaded Carl Wilson in charge.any importer of cars through the Tema harbour was constantly harassed until the poor gave up all they had to the car gang.is it the the case of 2 legs good 4 legs bad?the same people who seized cars in 2009 are now the ones stealing.didn't they know that after day there is surely night?did they think NPP will allow them go Irish free or could it be that they thought they are smarter by erasing the original chassis numbers of the vehicles they stole?hypocrites

"Today here we are, witnessing in the aftermath of a change in government a wanton scale of stealing of state assets arguably unrivaled in our post-independence history."
What a fat lie!
In 2008, Mills was unable to retrieve some 800 government cars used by the NPP government of chief thief Kufuor. No one, neither the media or individuals ever reported anything subsequent on those cars and you're asking how it finally went, I would tell you to look at the deep scar on your face for answer. So no one should come out inventing stories about this situation being the first of its kind!
If you doubt this, go look for articles on the subject. The phenomenon in Ghana that makes cars and vehicles articles of lux is a huge problem. This and others create the trend for corruption and rampant thievery since everyone needs a car to show off! Akufo-Addo's government is going to do worse.
And you think the black man has brains?

While these 'Ali Babas' were looting state monies, people were dying in hospitals due to lack of drugs, basic educational needs for our children etc., 60 years after independence. These people are the real enemies of state

Sometimes as a Ghanaian living in the West you feel ashamed to hear how some of our politicians behave. Stealing cars, stucking the country's money in foreign banks, sending their children in the best schools abroad and receiving medical treatment abroad while children die under school building make one wonder the mindset of such people. The CHANGE in the country should involve everything. Anyone caught in any wrong doing should be dealt with by the Law. No patronising, no condoning. The 'fama Nyame, Enye whee should be phrases of the past if Ghana has to move on!! We are too materialistic, We need education and more of it!!

I don't always want to sound political, but when you witness this type of thievery and on such gargantuan scale, it is very difficult to keep quiet. Politicians who are voted into power should be made to understand that they are just government workers, like the doctor who works at the hospital or the teacher in the classroom. This is one reason I hate the word "Honorable". What makes a national service minister like Ablakwah any more honorable than my professor who has taught at the university for 30 year or my cousin who has been working at a Regional Hospital as a doctor for 27 years. Which worker in Ghana who does his work conscientiously isn't honorable? Even DECs want to be called honorable. And the most annoying thing is that they are the real parasites of our society.
