But your point is well made. We voted Akufo-Addo to correct the mistakes of Mahama. So he cannot now be reminding us of Mahama's mistakes. We should look forward. He should make us see what he's doing wrong to correct the mistakes of the previous regime.
We are realistic. We are not expecting him to transform Ghana into Holland or Sweden in four years. But we want to see a real and better Ghana within that time than Mahama left it. And we want to start seeing the signs right now not the same old complaints about how bad the previous govt was!

Very hypocritical. The guy has not even laid his foundation yet and, you're asking him," where is the roof ". Be real. Even monkeys know to wait for the fruit to ripe before they plug it.

The writer didn't say she want the promises fulfilled tomorrow. She is only saying they should stop complaining about the past and get to work to fulfill the promises.

Stupid article. Even Mahama was given four years to show his worth. Akufo-Addo is not a magician but I can bet he will perform much better than Mahama and the NDC. Ghana progressed under Kufuor but the NDC has taken us back. We are not fools...we understand the issues so we will give the NPP some time to clean the mess created by Mahama.

The 1992 Rawlings Constitution gives the Presidency the sole custody of Ghana's Consolidated Account, otherwise known as the Treasury. Rawlings designed the Constitution so as to give the Presidency absolute control of the Consolidated Account without Parliament oversight. The Consolidated Account therefore operates within the whims and caprices of the Presidency without the oversight of Parliament.
After the 2000 elections, JA Kufuor complained of empty kitty, despite the fact that all proceeds of the divestiture of Nkrumah's state-owned enterprises (over 300 companies) were lodged in the Consolidated Account. Then after the 2008 elections, despite the unprecedented increase in cocoa and gold prices on world markets, HIPC, and the divestiture of Ashanti Goldfields to Anglogold, Ghana Telecom to Vodafone, Ghana Airways and others, JA Kufuor left the kitty yet again empty for Atta Mills.
Why should anyone be surprised JD Mahama does otherwise? We should rather thank the IMF for the oversight of the economy via its conditionalities, otherwise JD Mahama would have blown the deficit out of the water and made matters worst for Akufo-Addo
This has always been the case about Ghana's Consolidated Account. Akufo-Addo/Bawumia knew the history of the Consolidated Account coming in, yet they promised the country heaven and earth into victory. If Bawumia was so emphatic with his pre election assessment of Mahama's non performing economy, then what was the basis for all his promises.
In the US for instance, the Senate controls the US Treasury, and in most democracies such as Britain, Canada, etc., it is Parliament (the peoples' representatives) that controls the Treasury. Ghana's Parliament must control the Consolidated Account if we want to ensure transparency and have an effective checks and balances. Anything short of this would be pandering to the thieves in suit and tie.
