Don't even bring yahya Jammey in this picture, mahama had no choice but to leave. The defeat was overwhelming. I choose not commend him cos that will be like endorsing corruption, nepotism as well as putting party and family business ahead of country. His done enough damage to our country and maybe deserves commendation for that. Mahama, our National Disgrace

I beg to differ.Mahama's commendation needless. B'cos he Mahama conceded at the last minutes when pressures stated to mount on him from Society Big wigs. He had not option. My observations was that it was absolutely obvious that, the EC office was in league with the Executive . And therefore the EC office is not independent.Asiedu Nketia gives a consolation short talk.Minutes , Mahama conceded and in seconds the EC declared the results b'cos time was past due.All rigged plans or maneuvers to call the election in favour of the incumbent failed that was the reason of the EC to keep the nation in suspense with lame excuses here and there as the impediment for the delay to declared the result. They were simply hot and in shock with no option but to declared the results, for the peoples Choice,in my personal opinion.

All those who are condemning Lawyer Gjan for commending Mahama are people taking the peace we have in this country for granted. There have been wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cote D'voire and uprising in Burkina Faso over leaders refusing to hand over power but when it comes to Ghana, what people say is that it cannot happen in because we are a peace-loving people and that God loves us.This is fool- hardy. If Rawlings had not handed over peacefully to Kuffour in the year 2000, the nation would have imploded. At that time, Rawlings had all the resources at his disposal to suppress any uprising but for the sake of the country, he exited peacefully. In 2004, when it was evident that the NDC was winning, the NPP announced from the Castle that they had won the elections, disregarding the constitutionally laid down procedure for the Electoral Commission to do so.lf not for Mills who calmed down nerves,l wonder what would have happened. So continue enjoying the peace in the country and be rubbishing efforts well- meaning people are making to sustain it.

Ghanaians do not owe him any praise. The only recognition he deserves is him being the most incompetent President Ghana has ever had. Good riddance of a bad President if you ask me!

Justice Gyan, one thing you are forgetting is that, Ghanaians are well aware that we are ruled and governed by the laws of the land. Nobody is above the laws of the land and that include the President, judges like you and our traditional rulers. For you to say that Mahama deserves commendation for his posture and conduct
after losing the 2016 general election is hard to swallow.
The fact of the matter is, Mahama had no choice but to accept his defeat without disgracing himself before the World. If he had behaved differently, I bet you, peoples reaction would have been swift and with no mercy towards Mahama. from us, the citizens. Justice Gyan, enough is enough. We do not need a judge like you to lecture and entreat us to give Mahama our opened hands and reward him for disrespecting and treating us very badly and for leaving the nation's coffers completely dry and empty.
