I would like to correct a perception that the inhabitants of Zongos in our cities are predominately from Northern Ghana. The truth of the matter is 90% of them are aliens and Moslem economic migrants from neighboring countries, mainly from Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, Nigeria and few from the other West African countries. The lingua franca between Zongolese is a "broken Hausa" or "adulterated Hausa language", and Hausa is not a Ghanaian language. It is rather the language of Hausas in the north of Nigeria.
What Ghana needs now is another "Aliens Compliance Order" to kick them out for good. That is the only way we can develop a better and authentic ID system in our country. With the present system, Zongos will always exist and expand in our cities because the aliens will never stop coming and claiming the citizenship of our dear country fraudulently.

From Kofi amponsah dadzie I wish our children in Central and Western Regions will work very hard to become Ministers of State in Ghana in the near future. At the moment, we do not seem to count in the scheme of things when one looks at the appointees of the new NPP Government. It's very sad but some of us saw it coming. NPP won 19 seats in Central Region but did not get a single top position in Akuffo Addo's Government. At least one of them should have been considered.
In fact, this is a national disgrace and a huge embarrassment to some of us Fantes, who publicly campaigned for NPP. Don't mention the poor job given to Asamoah Boateng, who is not even an elected MP but a mere follow-back of the Akuffo Addo Campaign.
This is a big blow to all these Fantes who have worked for the Party since its formation in Saltpond. We must use this big snob as an eye opener and work harder to enter top positions in the Party including capturing the Flagbearer position. Fantes must now rise up to expectation. All our children at home and abroad must please take the opportunity to re-assert themselves and reach for the top so that we can also sit in Cabinet and draw the attention of the Executive to our plight. We are the the most lowliest regarded people in Ghana. I support NPP but not attracted to it now in any way because of their disrespect of Fantes. I wish them luck but wish and pray that our people from Central and Western Regions will regard these latest NPP appointments as a bitter lesson that we are now considered second class citizens by these People. Remember how Mahama and his people Amissah Arthur were treated in the Northerner dominated Mahama government up to date. Remember how Arkaah and Mills were poorly treated in NDC. I am gutted. But we are not Second Class citizens at all. We are equal to these Asante-Akyem-Northerners and Anlos always seeking and getting big positions in successive governments of Ghana. We are not interested in subservient positions as Deputies. We have far more intelligent Fantes in NPP. We worked hard in this Elections even without much support of our party leaders, who were stuck in Volta Regions for nothing. Let's unite and come together to promote our interests in this bigoted Ghanaian political atmosphere. We must not allow the sacrifices of our Fante Leaders like John Mensah Sarbah, Kobina Sekyi, B J Da Rocha, Col. Bernasko, Kwesi Lamptey, Saki Scheck, Kwesi Brew and many others to be in vain. Arise, Fantes of Ghana Politics. You have nothing to lose but your chains.

It sounds very funny to create a whole Ministry for Zongo, but looking at it from a different perspective; how Ghanaians build their houses and how we build our towns and cities, Ghana will have a lot of problems in the very near future.

Even here in America there are some places in the city is more dangerous than the Zongo in Ghana. What that Zongo ministry means to Ghanain? This is low human being thinking. Is the government going to build school or hospital for them because they live in Zongo? No place was created and called Zongo. It is we people just name some particular places Zongo. Everyone lives at Zongo both rich and poor and we all attended school at different ereas. It is not only people living in Zongo are wild people or criminals. If Zongo today become a dangerous place and it needs ministry of Zongo to control it I think we are losing our minds in our country. Our president and the Nation have to think twice before creating this dangerous move.

I applaud you Mr.President for this courageous move to address inner cities problems and pray that it shall come to pass and your effort wouldn’t go in vein. Though , I would have wish you hide the Zongo under " INNER CITIES DEVELPOMENT FUND" to avoid any criticism. That being said, the appointment of Bonniface as the minister to me was not a wise decision. One of the reasons NPP is finding it difficult to penetrate the zongo communities is the people they appoint /select/chose to represent them in these communities. They either lack in depth knowledge of these communities to find solutions to their problem or as usual do something small and loot the rest agenda they carry with them all the time. I would have advice the president to scout for a smart diasporas ( who have the community at heart) who have come home to settle or a community activist who is known to have been fighting for the advancement of inner cities. Not necessarily a muslim.
Boniface is not a bona fide zongorian to actually know the challenges in zongo communities . Truth be told, zongo’s differ and they come with different challenges. Boniface Salaga zongo can’t not be compared to Nima or Ashiaman Zongo . But, the position has been given and all we have to do as zongorians is to help him succeed. How ? Is the million dollar question all Zongorians are asking or will be asking. Is it going to be business as usual or more pragmatic approach. Mr.President my humble advice to you is to please form a committee with at least two representative from each community to oversee , advice and share ideas with the minister before implementing any plan ( I want to be part of this committee ). SCHOOLS should be number one priority. This is very important Mr.President, please put some measures in place to make sure that all monies disbursed go to where they suppose to go and not end up in the pocket of few disgruntle fools. Some of my zongo folks are WILD.

The best way to alleviate poverty is to tackle the problem in segments,its difficult & confusing when you take it as a whole.School leavers,artisans,children can also be addressed by the other ministries.
