Common sense is not common to mahama and his apparachiks. Trust me, my dear reader, the monies and cars that was freely given to some chiefs, specifically Nii Ayibonte and the Odikro of Domaah, could have tilted the ballots in the favor of Mahama if he have had the brains to channel to resources in building thousands of dams and borehole.
Choosing to bribe people to enrich themselves instead of spending to servicing the poor masses directly is what cost Mahama and his babies with sharp teeth the elections.
