I have always wwondered why President Mahama set the Montie 3 free. In America, threatening someone is a federal crime punishable by up to five years in jail. So, how can a president, the first father of the nation, free these criminals who have threatened to kill and rape some SC judges? Never again . We need strong leadership, a leader who wouldn't yield to senseless pressure from his ministers and foot soldiers.

God is not an Ashanti man. I understand one thing, the wealthy man is always considered the wise man. If u go to the western world, African r fools and does not know how to manager resources. If u come to Africa, people from the deprived parts of Africa have no brain to manage resources. In Ghana, those from the north does not know how to manage resources unless u accept to be their servant. Ghana and many other African countries who acepted to serve the interest of the USA r praised. Lybia who refused to serve the interest of US, r sabotaged. Traders intensionally increased prices of goods to make it difficult for Mahama govt. Nana won n they reduced prices to make it soft for his govt without waiting for him to reduce electricity tariffs, fuel prices n reduce taxes. Though I did not admire Mahama's administration, I know most of his difficulties were substage n each one of us will answer this one day

As I have maintained all along, no person currently living in Ghana can fix the woes of the country; not Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. These two gentlemen are products of Ghana's stale and corrupt environment. They may not engage in corruption themselves, but their affinity to opinion leaders such as chiefs and influential pastors may preclude them from exacting the appropriate punishment to law breakers. The 'nyebro' factor would be a strong consideration for decisions they take.
The second point is that, both men are not exposed to international financial systems, and may likely bring the IMF and World Bank back to bear on Ghana's economy. People are banking on Bawumia to stem the tide of the free falling economy, but they will be hugely disappointed. The NPP's campaign promise of one region one factory is not a promise to write home about. Governments don't build factories, rather, they use tax incentives to attract companies to preferable locations. But Ghana at the moment has no workable tax regime to facilitate this one region one factory dream. So the government may want to build factories itself to fulfill this campaign promise, but we all know the result when a government tries to inject itself into the private sector.
As far as the economy goes, Bawumia and his team cannot do better than their predecessors; not by any stretch of the imagination. If Akufo-Addo's government wants to turn Ghana's economy around, it must start at the rudimentary level, by defining the government's fiscal policy vis-a-vis the monetary, which is the mandate of BoG. But this is a government that is already complaining about high taxes in the country.
Here is my point, Ghana since independence has the privilege of having two leaders; a President, and a Prime Minister who spent most of their lives abroad. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Dr. K. Busia have one thing in common - they were not corrupt. They also had the country at heart and were true patriots of the land. Dr. Nkrumah no doubt laid a strong economic foundation for the country, whereas Dr. Busia's much needed rural development program was cut short by Kutu Acheampong's coup. If Dr. Busia had finished his first term in office, the perennial flooding in Accra and elsewhere would have been abated, with the 'woara tu woara sa' project of which this writer then a high school student participated.
Since the advent of Dr. Nkrumah and Dr. Busia, no national leader has come close to their patriotism, their mental acumen, and their love to do good for the country. The country can only find the characteristics of Dr. Nkrumah and Dr. Busia in Ghanaians who have lived and made their mark abroad. No Ghanaian living in Ghana at the moment has the quality or the knowhow to turn Ghana's economic around. Those living in Ghana now, including Akufo-Addo and Bawumia are not sophisticated enough!!!
