Selorm, looks like you're young and cannot understand why Ewes vote the way they do.
Ewes don't vote for NDC because they think the party is the one that will give them the most development projects. The main reason they vote for NDC is because they perceive the party as "their" party as against the party of the Twis! They vote for NDC because they think it is the party in which they will be respected as bona fide Ghanaians. It is the party in which they have a voice. It is the party whose leadership will not treat them as second class citizens. It is the party in which they feel at home. It is the party where the leadership will not start talking in Twi when the Ewes have left the room.
Ewes feel they will not get the same respect in NPP as they will get in NDC. Ewes do not vote for NPP because they perceive that party as an Akan party made up of people who do not respect them! They don't feel at home there.
This is the main feeling among Ewes. That thing about development projects in their region is just secondary. After all, a national government has the duty to develop all regions even those that did not vote for it.

Kodzo, you're showing inrepentable heart, baseless attitude, irresponsible behavior towards a young man who with his deep after taught has come back to believe in one unified people under one nation but you are trying very hard to brainwash him to return back to never exist philosophy. if really the npp is an Akan party than how on earth can any minority party win any election in Ghana. because our population shows that Akans are majority with almost 20 million,Volta region with 3 million then other minorities make up with foreigners 4 million. my friend learn to come out from
your long hatred behavior towards the Akans and it's would help you.I rest my case.....

Selorm, you are wrong in many aspects of your submission.NPP hacked the EC website & reduced figures from the Volta Region while increasing those in Ashanti & other regions.I am surprised this criminal incident has gone unnoticed. But God is watching!.Akuffo Addo couldn't have won this election on a credible playing field. We are also tempted to believe that some EC officials knew & were part of the conspiracy to compromise their website.

Soar loser! What about those media outlets who were also collating the results from the polling centres through their numerous reporters? Joy News did a wonderful job with good analysis(Raymond Acquaah). Give credit those who deserve it. NPP won accept it and move on.Tell your leadership to go back to the drawing board and come up with new strategies for success in 2020.

1. Voltarians vote the way thet do because of ethnocentrism
2. Votarians dislike the NPP (as a result of point one above) and not necessarily Nana Akufo Addo. Check the voting patterns since 1992, in both presidential and parliamentary elections
3.many Voltarians realised that Mahama and the NDC had become corrupt and incompetent but These voters could not bring themeselves to vote for the NPP. They simply refused to vote.
From the above, it is clear that ethnocentrism is a big factor in Ghana's politics today. It is an issue which needs to be addressed by all

The 2000 elections was between Kuffour and Mills. Mahama stood on the ticket of NDC in 2012. Mills did not finish his first term so he spent less than 4 years in office. Kudos!!

Selorm, obviously you have not worked under the NPP before. They assume that as an Ewe, you must necessarily be an enemy. I used to be as idealistic as you are now particularly since I had leaved abroad for most of my life. To cut a long story short, I voted NPP in 2000 but by the time they left in 2008, they had turned me into a diehard NDC.
