Describing JD Mahama as shrewd is an aberration and ill-conceived. Mahama is not that intelligent to configure the ramifications of his appointments. If that was the case, his appointees in various positions in government would have excelled far beyond imagination, and his government wouldn't be hanging on straws.
Charlotte Osei is neither cluesless nor a puppet, rather she is simply incompetent just like Mahama himself and many of his appointees.
As I have maintained all along, no Ghanaian raised and currently living in Ghana has the mental acuity to lead the country. History shows that of all our leaders, only two distinguished themselves as true leaders capable of true leadership - Dr. Nkrumah and Dr. Busia. If you would also notice, they were never accused of being corrupt. Both studied abroad, and lived extensively in abroad before going into politics - they were not tainted in anyway by the criminal inclination of their contemporaries who grew up and were raised in the corrupt system in the country. Unlike the leaders who were raised and lived their whole life in the country, Nkrumah and Busia had the conviction of purpose to use their brains to help the country.
Compare Nkrumah and Busia to the likes of JJ Rawlings, JA Kufuor, Atta Mills, and JD Mahama who are all local breed with minimal foreign exposure and you would notice the stark difference as to how they handled the Presidency. Apart of being corrupt to the core, they lacked the aptitude and mental acuity to be President of the country. This also includes Akufo-Addo if he is successful on Dec 7. He would have nothing to offer the country, as he is fatally limited to the idiosyncratic Ghanaian way.
Ghana needs a Ghanaian who has lived and worked extensively abroad, and who has rubbed shoulders with white contemporaries in higher levels of administration. This person must understand the economic systems of the west and how it works - distribution of wealth through the tax system, law and order, and empowering Ghana's democratic institutions. We need this kind of person at the helm if we are to move our country forward.

Well, I have a two-part article on Sarkodie's "Dear Rap" (specifically for you).
I read your comments on the song "Dear Rap" "No Sin; No God; No Heaven") and decided to do this two-part series.
Part 1 is already published on the Entertainment page (Ghanaweb). I hope you will make time and read it.
Regards,
Thanks.

Is it far fetched to expect that somebody aspiring to be a president of a country should be able to fill an application form properly? Should the EC be their secretary and point out mistakes to them? Let us be serious. Whether the mistakes warrant disqualification or not, they should not be there in the first place.

Who could have thought what Martin Amidu says about the laws in Ghana goes even for you, Bernard Asubonteng, even as you put America to shame for placing your ignorance on display? Has Mr. Martin Amidu ever said where in the constitution registration for political office start or end in Ghana? Did the constitution or a law give the EC or its commissioner the authority to set registration dates? Did the constitution or law say from whence the EC derives it's authority on how much registration fees for candidates ought to be? Did it say the EC has the authority to review submitted application forms and if so what the EC has to do with the forms? If parliament and or the constitution did not spell out details in all the questions I have raised then interpretation can be subjected to partisan politics and or influence peddling by the rich. What I know to be common sense, Mr. Bernard Asubonteng, is that EC can inherently derive it's authority. So if Martin Amidu and Justices on our high courts or the Supreme Court cannot cite foundations of a specific law or precedent they should hove no more rights or be allowed to draw up interpretations without basis in fact or law. It is amazing that your living in America has not giving you much clue or logic, law or common sense. Martin Amidu is not the law despite pretending to be the and only "founding father" of Ghana's childishly written constitution.

Please let this woman tell us which university she graduated from and in which year especially for her law degrees. Look there are a lot of 419 people parading around as graduates when they never attended any university and there is no way you can know except through their performance such as we are seeing in the case of this woman. Remember the power of bottom power combined with 419! You cannot disentangle. I suspect this woman. Remember she gave her origin and schooling as Ghana and Nigeria here and there and about! POINTER TO 419. LET US CHECK; OF COURSE mAHAMA DID NOT AND MAY NEVER CHECK! LET US START TODAY. THIS IS NEVER A TRUE GRADUATE LAWYER, MY GOD!

I don't think the writer is calling Mahama SHREWD; because if you look at the word, it's in quotation marks. What does that tell you in English writing, empty-heads? Something is wrong with these fools! I think the writer is excellent.

Secondly, words are often written in quotation marks to indicate that someone has already used it earlier, and the writer is using that word for emphasis. Explain this sentence to me:
- The police were called to a "disturbance" - which in reality was a pretty big fight. Does the word in quotation marks change the condition for which the police were called?

No, it does not change the LITERAL meaning of that word--disturbance--however, you sadly failed to understand or capture the essence of CONNOTATION and DETONATION. It is clear you are only focusing on the latter as opposed to the former. For your information, do you know that English is said to be "elastic"? In other words, you can use one word to represent many concepts under different writing situations or contexts? I'm not sure where you learn your English from--Ghana, England or US? It has to be one of the mushroom schools in Ghana.

Mr. English teacher, how could a word capture the essence of "detonation", and why did you put elastic in quotation marks? You also wrote, "It is clear you are only focusing on the "latter" as opposed to the "former"". You insult me by asking if I learned my English from one of the mushroom schools in Ghana.
I thought you were going to teach me proper English, but unfortunately, you lack diction yourself to begin with. First, let me hear you explain the word "detonation" in in line of your sentence. Again, competent English language speakers do not say, "I'm not sure where you learn (shouldn't learn be past participle if you understand past participle?)
You also wrote "...you are only focusing on the latter as opposed to the former." Hey Mr. brainy, what is the "latter", and what is the "former" that you refer to? Or is it just a matter of throwing words around without structure and organization as most Ghanaians do? So now, having pointed out these grammatical errors in your diction, my question now is: Did you learn your English in Ghana, England or the US? Or probably from one of the mushroom schools in Ghana?

Unlike you,I don't claim I'm above making errors. In fact, the DETONATION was a typo. I meant to say Denotation. What is a big deal here, fool? I guess you feel good about your sorry self that you have caught an error in my spelling, don't you sucker? Ok, you got that one. Again, the FORMER and LATTER here were in reference to the use of connotation and denotation, respectively. No sir or madam, I did not receive any of my college education/schooling in Ghana or Africa...and I can also assure you that none of my education came from any of the cheap Eastern European countries, either. By the way, I have to try to write at your level of understanding because apparently you're having a hard time figuring out what quotation marks (you called them inverted marks, right?)mean when put around certain words/phrases/sentences. Well, let me briefly help you out: sometimes, some writers put word/words in quotation marks in sarcastic sense or to signal to a good reader that the word has special meaning (connotation) from the literal one (denotation). Remember, this is the last time you're hearing from me, I don't have any more time to dignify your elementary venting with responses. If you have any question or you have problem understanding what SHREWD means, contact whoever wrote the article. Ok?

Nonetheless, I'm always fascinated by the Ghanaian propensity to resort to insults when pushed to the wall. Oh yeah, I know what it is; the typical Ghanaian is cognitively adrift and insecure in knowledge to articulate their thought processes, that's why they resort to insults in the least provocation. My friend Muash, learn to articulate your thoughts without insults, because doing so not only demonstrates your intellectual capabilities, it cements your cognitive adroitness and earns you the respect you so desire. It's too late in my neck of wood here, and I must go to bed after a long and arduous day. Chat with you some other day, my friend.
