It does seem from this article that K. Badu is a tad too touchy and from all indications exhibits the characteristics of somebody with a very thin skin. Yes let us criticise our politicians all we want but we also need to temper our criticisms with a little bit of common sense.
The writer made a big fuss about Mahama chastising Ashantis as being ungrateful bunch. This is uncalled for because that could ruffle the feathers of some Ashantis... as if we didn't have enough tribal divisions already. But let us look at this objectively: how many times have you not heard people in our homes and streets in the heat of discussions say: "Asantefoo eni ay3" (Ashantis are ungrateful). If you subscribe to the literal meaning of this, then you may need to pause to calm your nerves before you end up in a mental ward: it is just a saying.
The other thing is Mr Badu harping on Mahama's comment about the difficulty Ashanti's have with pronouncing L&R. If the first time you heard that was from Mahama, then you probably come from somewhere other than Ghana because our comedians have been having a field day with that for a while now ...and sometimes they humorously hit on every tribe, including the northerners! That is not to say that the President shouldn't be a little selective and diplomatic in his choice of words and 'sarcasm'.
