This is nonsense. The man didn't condem the the drink. What said was that because of the sugar content the Old Short All Die Be Die man should not be be taking a lot of it. What is wrong with the advice to him and the general public? Are we not being advised on daily basis to avoid sugar? So what is this nonsense about?
