That is why it grew substantially when we discovered oil. However, it started declining when the revenue accumulated by the state from the oil was less than what was been expatriated. Why because you negotiated 13 percent for the country and kept 2 percent for yourselves. The recent ten fields the government is keeping 15%. Though I admit that is not enough you negotiated for that. So stop the BS. This guy is no economist

Bawumia at certain level in Ghanaian politics disgraces himself because with most of the points that he relied on in projecting some of his political fallacies raise a lot of questions about his competence in the area of economics he claimed to have attained perfection.
Most times one is compelled to ask why he does that with his refertences of the way the economy is run, when he is quite aware that the oil prices of which our nation depended on for all our economic policies fell terribly of which every rational and honest politician but not tribal or political bigot could say that Ghana's economy would be in trouble as long as all the nations that depended on oil for their economic policies are presently in a mess, with Ghana not being exception.
With the oil falling prices which dislodged Ghana economically, and with the unexpected situation of our electric power situation of which nobody had to be blamed for, but if there's any blame then it should go to all the political parties that compete to rule Ghana for their lack of foresight to know that the growth of population with business here and there, and with much usuage of equipments call for extension of the power production.
With these very few points, l can say that every Ghanaian that is educated and not a tribal and political bigot can surely understand that the Mahama government had not done bad as long as they had tried to manage the economy to slowly coming out of the terrible situation our economy entered in. Further his government had constructed the GAS PLANT at Atuabo in the Western region which in the future will help greatly in solving our general energy problem.
In my opinoin if Bawumia is well educated and conscious of the reality of the future of Ghana, and further not bias in reasoning then i see no reson why he should not be supportive of the policies that Mahama is following to solve our problem now and forever in the future.
That's why l can understand why Mahama asks for another term to complet his work so that people of both sides of the political divide can see the real work he had come out with. Anyway l can understand that Bawumia would like to be there as a vice president too therefore he can never be frank with the realities on the ground else he would not be there at all. That's what we call bad politics, and that is what we all follow.
The real and good politics say politics is a science and an art of managing a nation, and this calls for togetherness and genuine action and reaction, of which we do not see it coming from Bawumia in all his comments that he demonstrated.
