Yes they were managing an economy that did not have the burden of servicing external debts, an economy that was pay only just over 3 billion cedis in recurrent expenditure whereas it is more than 10 billion today. They had the Dutch government to pay for School Feeding Program that had only 400,000 pupils and yet they mismanaged it that the Dutch withdrew their support in 2008. Today the program feeds about 2,000,000 pupils and yet is fully funded from government of Ghana budget. They presided over a District Mutual Insurance Scheme that had about 9 million hospital Attendance whereas it is today a National Health Insurance Scheme with close to 30 million attendance annually. What serious intellectuals do is to make comparison in context and not like a primary school eating debate. The simple truth is that the NPP cannot manage any serious economy in this difficult and trying world economic order. Remember we are not in a HIPC situation where we virtually have no responsibilities. By the way what did they use the HIPC benefits of about 3 billion dollars to do? " Jubilee parks and rehabilitated school buildings and toilets that were demeaningly labeled HIPC Benefit. What an insult and these people want to govern us again!! May God forbid.
