Should the Rawlingses and their children own everything in Ghana?

Former President John Rawlings and his family Former President John Rawlings and his family

The 31st December Women’s Movement was started in 1982 and at that time, there were no partisan politics in Ghana since the revolution was in its early stages.

So in 1992, when partisan politics started, the Movement had already politicized the women in such a way that they could make informed choices so that they could decide where they want to be. The Movement worked towards making women very political, because If you are not political in Ghana, you cannot take decisions that affect you and your family.

When the NPP came to power in 2001, a lot of surveys were done to find out why members of the 31st December Women’s Movement are too strong in whatever they do to believe in a certain objective and have a certain vision to lead their lives. The NPP then believed falsely that the 31st December Women’s Movement was a political wing of the NDC, and I say that the NDC would never had lost elections if their allegations was true but the NPP decided to destroy that vibrant Women’s Movement by withdrawing all the teachers on secondment to the numerous Day Care Centres of the movement-spread across the country.

Read This: For almost 8 years, the 31st December Women’s Movement worked towards making the Movement a member of the Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC) of the U.N, the NGO Section and it takes a long time as they go through your books, they look for what you are doing and you have to go and defend it.

When they finally agreed in 2 years time, to admit the 31st December Women’s Movement in the ECOSOC as a member, Nana Akuffo Addo who was then Foreign Minister in the NPP government sent a letter to the Embassy that they should NOT ALLOW the 31st December Women’s Movement to be a member of the ECOSOC.

The NPP government sent another letter to the ambassador and to the UN that the Movement is only a political group even though they are a Social and Economic group trying to better the lives of the women in Ghana. Do you see how dishonest and wicked the NPP government was? Do you see how dishonest and wicked Nana Akuffo Addo is – Do you see how ex-President Kofour is dishonest and wicked up to date 2016?

When the UN received those false letters, the ECOSOC boss called Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and said that he had received a letter from her government that 31st December Women’s Movement are just a political group creating problems in the country, so they should not be allowed to be a member of ECOSOC. Do you now see the extent to which the NPP government would go to destroy a viable organization?

Anyway, it served Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings right because she now wines and dines with Nana Akuffo Addo and even sat near ex-President Kofour on Ghana’s Independence Day on 6th March, 2016 – just to provoke Cadres.

She has now married both men politically, and is helping them to destroy the NDC, her former party in order to win the 2016 elections for the NPP. The Rawlingses now think of themselves and family and not the masses in Ghana again and their demeanor shows that. If you are still bitter after 19 yrs in power, I don’t know what is wrong with you.

The chocolate factory

The 31st December Women’s Movement have got a huge cocoa factory built by the Chinese and Ceridian that can process more of Ghana’s Cocoa. Ex – Prez Kufour made up his mind that he will never make that factory work. Why did he do that? Listen to what he told a former UN Secretary General and the former Secretary General of the Common Wealth who intervened on behalf of the 31st Women’s Movement:

“Why should I put money in the hands of my enemy?” He was questioning Mr. Anyaoko, the then Secretary General.

Ex-Prez Kufour thought that the violent prone tribal NPP would remain in power forever. The NPP led by ex-Prez Kufour and Nana Akuffo Addo said all members of the 31st December Women’s Movement are their enemies and not even their political opponents.

Nana Konadu could have even re-applied to the UN to allow the 31st December Women’s Movement become a member of ECOSOC when the NDC won the 2008 general elections, but she ganged up with her husband Jerry Rawlings to destroy the late Prez Mills to enable her become the flag bearer of the NDC but lost.

She has lost two things and have decided to join forces with her enemies in the NPP according to Kufour - to destroy the great NDC. They would fail. There is always blood in the head of a tse-tse fly – so fear some Asante female politicians in this country.

If they don’t get it, nobody else will get it. Should the Rawlingses and their children own everything in Ghana? I leave the answers to Ghanaians and the world.
