1. General Acheampong introduced and implemented the change from the imperial to the metric system of measurement and the change from driving on the left to right hand drive, dubbed: “Operation Keep Right”.
2. General Acheampong had a passion for agriculture, so his Agriculture Commissioner, Col. Frank Bernasko, sought to imprint development based on “Operation Feed Yourself”-self-reliance in agriculture in the minds of Ghanaians.
3. Acheampong’s regime is well remembered for its national reconstruction initiative geared towards employment promotion and skill training for workers. Projects such as reconstruction of streetlights and upgrading of stadia to meet global standards can hardly be ignored.
4. The Kpong Hydro-electric project,
5. Dansoman Housing Estates and others in the regions were all initiatives of Acheampong.
6. He also introduced the Charter of Redemption and the National Pledge to be recited in schools.
7. His promotion of national unity is unparalleled.

Mr. Kingsley Eyiah, an excellent write up on the EC chairperson's leadership and performance in creating a perception of credibility and impaciallity for a very important job with national security implications. Hopefully. BNI and NDC monitors of the Web will share this article with His Excellency, the President, Asiedu Nketiah and the NDC leadership and communication teams that there are others in civil society who are intelligent enough to know what is going on relative to their unconscionable influence in the EC.
An EC which is perceived to be credible, fair and impartial fosters peaceful Coexistance and national unity.
Madam chairperson of Ghana EC , the end game of your job is peace. Take note and remain Independent.

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM AN EC WHEN A SITTING PRESIDENT ELECTED HER? WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM AN EC WHEN SHE IS NOT ELECTED BY A CREDIBLE INDEPENDENT PANEL. GHANA HAS A CONSTITUTIONAL PROBLEM UNLESS THE EC POSITION IS ELECTED FROM THE JUDICIARY WITH A FULL COMPLEMENT FROM PARLIAMENT THROUGH SERIES OF VETTING ELSE THE HOLDER OF EC POSITION WILL BE DOUBTED IN PERFORMANCE. RICH CVS ARE NECESSARY BUT IT IS SUFFICIENT THAT THE THE ELECTED PERSON HAS INTEGRITY AND COMPETENT CHARACTER AND PERSONA.
