In all of great thinkers you would find that it is the environment in which they lived garnered their thought process. For example, Sir Isaac Newton witnessed an apple fall right in front of him, and through this experience he gave us the law of gravity. All the world's famous philosophers, Plato, Karl Marx, Voltaire, Socrates, John Locke, Descartes, etc., etc., began questioning practices and traditions in their days, and using philosophical arguments to bolster their positions.
To what extent does the writer of this article expects his readers to expand their thinking?
This is what I am thinking right now. What are chiefs the custodians of one of Ghana's factors of production, land, in a republican country? Why are chiefs flexing their muscles against the peoples elected representatives in a republican state, and why are ignorant people in the country supporting the chiefs. Why must political parties go to northern Ghana to choose their vice presidential candidates?
If the writer wants his readers to expand their thinking, he should exhort them to start from the environment in which they live, because charity begins at home.
