Its only in Ghana that it is a crime to be trained as a degree nurse under this government. The government should tell all the various universities running nursing programs to halt because it is of not use in Ghana. I still pity those who are in still in the university reading nursing especially those who are also about to enter. No hope & future for degree nurses in Ghana under this current Government.
How can you cry for quality health care with your degree nurses still home unemployed from 2011 up to date. There is "something wrong with our leaders". The government should act noe as a matter of urgency before this month ends.
All eyes on ground, November or December 7th go be k??k?!

While other countries are hailing and cherishing their graduate (degree) nurses, Ghana and for that matter this government rather condemns graduate (degree) nurses and rather admire nurses with diploma for reasons unfathomable. How then are we expecting and advancement in the health sector and health care delivery.
The government may say we should try the private sector for employment but here is the case the nurses with lower qualifications are filling the private hospitals and taking lower wages in the name of part time nursing services. So the question is how do you expect them (private sector) to employ us when they are getting something similar to the quality services we would have provided at a lower price?
Note: The nurses with lower qualifications are taking lower wages because they are already employed by government and are taking higher salaries under government so the wages from the private sector is just a supplement....

The government has taken a bias stand in their mode of employment, in other jurisprudence the basic requirements for health professionals is degree because better quality of nursing is given and back at home they deem it right to employ only diploma holding nurses leaving graduate nurses from the various public universities, the stands of the government is unpardonable, regrettable and has a potential of causing fear and panic to the innocent young men and women pursing nursing in our various public universities. We need equal opportunities for graduate nurses.

I don't want to conclude that you're an ignoramus, but you certainly sound as though you are one by your very last sentence. I guess you will agree with me that practical orientation follows theory, unless, perhaps, you want to deny that nursing care is a science, which practice doesn't ensues knowledge and critical thinking. Or unless you're either the type who's never set foot in any higher center of learning, or perhaps, doesn't aspire to be admitted in one.
You Come across to me as one who relegates good knowledge to the background.
