I for one do not see anything good coming to Ghana under Grant and this FA.
Grant is lazy and a waste of time.

The GFA is not run professionally so that is the start of the problem. Without a competent FA that doesn't allow egos and favourtism (players who are not even playing regularly for clubs) and condones (by not barring) use of witch doctors then egos will fly high. Resulting in the continued dissappointment at international tournaments.
If the German FA were in charge of Ghana for 2 years you see how many of these players would still be playing for Black Stars and the level Ghana of success and professionalism Ghana football would reach.

You can't completely blame these players for what happened in brazil. With the exeption of Algeria, I think the rest of the African countries that took part in the world cup had same or similar issues. Have you ask yourselves why. Did this happen to the european or other countries? So now the players are not patriotic. What about the the Government, the FA, the Pastors, Head teachers and almost every individual. There is nothing like patriotism in Ghana or in Africa to be precise.

It hurts and it still hurts. Black Stars players should grow up. Money is not everything in life. Other things matters as well.
I may have forgiven them but i have friends who will never forgive them in spite of everything.

Mr. Hayford, everyone has the right to decide as well as how to exercise their feelings towards our nation team Ghana Black Star. Whether they would support the team by conversing publicly, privately or silently, it is their right. Likewise those whose chose not to support the team because of the 2014 Brazil fiasco. Do you blame them, and you have audacity to silent them as well as calling their mouths dirty. The qualification to W/C is not the same as Afcon remember. How many times, have we qualified and participated in Afcon? Many times but the 2018 W/C qualification isn't going to be like beating Mauritius.
Thanks God we had managed 3 consecutive times to let our presence known
to the world soccer fraternity that, we are the Ghana Black Star. But 2014 might/may be our last chance to see the W/C fest. So if people were/are mad of the team and it administration, let them be because it is hard to count 365 days, 365 days, 365 days and 365 days four times!
Take heed.

I don't understand why people are still blaming the players when the blame should be on the dishonest government and the GFA. I know the players goofed but they were fed up with the lies too. NDC Sports Ministers are liars and their Presidents are tired of changing them. So is the GFA thieving brigade led by the crook Nyantakyi. I don't blame the players at all. I think $100,000 is nothing to them but they were fed up with disappointment from the government just like how we feel about them now. They were just foolishly caught between the Sports Ministry, the GFA and the fans and that forced them to make such a stupid decision.

As eloquently as the author might have expressed his frustrations with the Black Stars, -- the kind that he feels mirrors the resentment of every football enthusiast: I think that, -- and with all due respect -- he is barking the wrong trees.
His frustrations over the Brazil-melt-down ought to be directed against management, -- including the president of Ghana. They were the ones that compromised the game against the United States. Whatever they got out of it for themselves, or the country: only God knows.
Some of the players were in, on that proverbial treason; but the majority of them were caught off-guard just like all of us. And what we all saw, -- i.e., the forceful demand for the players' appearance fees -- was just their way of dealing with the betrayal.
Please, let nobody make any mistake, and mischaracterize them mercenaries. Because they are not. They had to come up so forcefully in order to salvage their last bit of self-resect.
Granted, the majority of our players went to Brazil for economic reasons. By that, I don't mean the chunk change of appearance fees. The economic reason for which they put their bodies on the line for us: was to advance further in the tournament; and catch the attention of lucrative clubs for heavy contract-deals. It once gave Kevin Prince Boateng's career a shot-in-the-arm after the WC in South Africa. They were all hopeful that the appearance in Brazil was going to yield similar fruits on a personal level. But this time, -- in Brazil -- it did not happen for them. And it was because their leaders, -- including the Ghana president -- wanted something more than victory at the WC tournament.
Who is to blame for the fiasco in Brazil? It would be so callous of anyone to attribute it to the forceful demands our players made, -- to get the whole nation to sit up, and share in their sorrows, shame disgrace, and above all career-let-down inflicted upon them by the leaders the were counting on.
Questions, or food-for-thought:
Does it come as a surprise to us that Muntari, -- our best playmaker is now plying his trade in lowly Saudi Arabia?
To say we don't get it, is to say that we have become a nation of people who can no longer connect the dots. If this is what we as a people are becoming, then in my humble opinion we as a nation is heading down a dangerously slippery slope.
It's time for us to stop barking the wrong trees, demand accountability from our leaders who used the Brazil WC as a goodwill gesture to the United States. We must say to them:
"SHAME ON YOU!"
The players were victims, and not mercenaries.
May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana: Amen!!!
