An important omission in your opinion piece is that in 2012 it was legal to use the NHIS Card to register as a voter. Check CI71 and you will see it is one of the documents listed. So it was nothing like the election officers found it convenient to accept the NHIS card and that is why they got registered. IT is unfortunate that there are people like you misleading people with your comments when you do not even know what documents were legally allowed in 2012.

{a}That the Electoral Commission takes steps immediately to
delete or as is popularly known 'clean" the current register of
voters to comply with the provisions of the 1992 Constitution,
and applicable laws of Ghana;
{b} That any person whose name is deleted from the register of
voters by the Electoral Commission pursuant to order (a) above
be given the opportunity to register under the law."
