A very foolish illogical illiterate writer. When we talked of tribal politics a day care kid knows that the Busia_Dankwah Tradition is evidence of NPP ethnocentric politics. Now the insulting aspect of tribal dicimination is the optional addition of Combo just to cow Anthony Karbo and and early Northern politicians that were tribally discriminated after they were fooled to support Busia to win elections.Northern politicians of the Busia_Dankwah Tradition of Northern extradition had been marginalised up to date by the NPP and I have enough evidence to back what I am saying in another time. You uneducated(formally and informally uneducated) rat, what credible literature have you and can you to put this rubbish on this platform to irritate learned and rational Ghanains?

Over the years , NDC have been calling on NPP to leave their 'comfort zone' and go outside Akans to non- Akans to field their Presidential tickets.
President Mahama and almost all his propagandist Ministers & activist have used this to whip sentiments against NPP since 1990s.
Now Bawumia is also calling on NDC to leave their "comfort zone" & go outside Christians to Muslims to field their Presidential tickets.
NDC will have to do proper equalisation. Their Bawumia/ Attivor equalisation is terribly bunkum.
Sayoo sayoo. The heat is on.

In the last three (3) general elections in Ghana NPP has won the popular and majority elected members of parliament in only two (2) out of the ten (10) regions in Ghana. That alone should tell you which party is tribal were it not for a smart NPP party placing ignorant people in key positions of the party.
Nana Akufo-Addo's campaign has been plagued with incompetence and intra party skirmishes based on Ashantis versus Akyim not because of any smarts from the NDC. Even the so-called economic guru the NPP continues to tout as a miracle, Dr. Bawumia, has entered into the gutter level politics of fanning the flames of religious discourse. Tell me who is tribal Wontumi and co.

Mr. Antwi Boasiako, that you've put squarely the genesis of tribal politics in Ghana at the feet of the NDC while totally exonerating the NPP is very pathetic indeed. Your major problem in this connection seems to be your failure to look critically at when tribal politics started in Ghana and which party actually introduced the unfortunate phenomenon. That is where you have failed as a serious scholar in your article.
The truth of the matter is that tribal politics actually predates the NDC. It was Prime Minister Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia and his Progress Party, the antecedent of today's NPP, that introduced tribal politics in Ghana. Soon upon his assumption of the Prime Ministership in 1969, Busia and his administration immediately targeted and dismissed 568 legitimately employed civil and public servants, the overwhelming majority of whom were Ewes, followed by Gas, on the charge of incompetence? This became known in Ghana as Apollo 568. Among the dismissed Ewes was a recently promoted GNTC man by the name of E. K. Sallah, who challenged at the Supreme Court Busia and his administration and the court unanimously ruled in his favour. The court pointed out, inter alia, that his dismissal was discriminatory and illegal and that Busia and his administration failed to prove that Sallah was incompetent, since his promotion to the position of manager was meritorious. The court therefore ordered Busia and his administration to reinstate the manager. Then Busia, who had touted himself as a great democrat, appeared on national TV and declared that no court, including Ghana's Supreme Court, could tell him what to do. And that ended the matter; Mr. Sallah was not re-employed.
I must add, parenthetically, that it was the same Busia and his administration who passed and implemented an aliens' compliance order and expelled from Ghana a large number of West Africans, mostly Nigerians, many of whom were born in Ghana, from the country. That expulsion has later adversely affected Ghana economically.
As if he didn't learn any good lesson from those historical facts, President John A. Kufuor following in Busia's footsteps also targeted and dismissed a large number of Ewes from both the civil and public services as well as from the military and the police administration soon upon assuming the presidency in 2001. He replaced those Ewes he dismissed not merely with Akans but with mostly Asantes. Indeed, it became common knowledge during the Kufuor administration that E?es and those bearing E?e-sounding names were never listed and invited for interviews for senior civil servant positions and that they were therefore not employed One Akan senior civil servant who was displeased with what his colleagues were doing, reported this sad happening to former President Rawlings. At one of his press conferences, Kufuor was asked why Asantes disproportionately dominate his administration and he answered that he employed them because they had overwhelmingly voted for him; they had put him in power and, therefore, he had to employ them.
From this brief historical fact, how can you argue that "the NDC has been doing tribal politics since the dawn of the fourth republic" and that it has since 1992 "been serving Ghanaians a virtual diet of tea laced with the opiate of deceit, brewed in a concoction of lies"?
The fear that you've expressed in your statement that it is ultimately Ghana that loses when tribal tribal politics is practised "since it ensures that competent hands are overlooked in the search for national leadership while favouring the clueless" was already the norm during the Busia and the Kufuor administrations. Or, what do you call the policies of discrimination against Ewes and other non-Akans that Busia and Kufuor introduced as a policy during their administrations?
