Full of contradictions! If the EC boss is determined to carve a niche for herself then she must get on the good foot.

In the advanced countries EC is integrated part of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. There is no administrative gap between the people and the govt like ours.Govt has the data base of their citizens and even foreigners which we don't have.In the advanced countries, residence addresses are very essential in planning and govenance. Here in Ghana, govt doesn't know how to reach out to individuals through residence address apart from radio,tv and newspapers. With all these administrative lapses it will take a miracle for Charlotte Osei the Electoral Commissioner to satisfy everybody.Thank you.

What are you trying to tell your readers? Democracy thrives on checks-and-balances! The EC was single-handedly picked by the President who is a stakeholder in this year's elections! It's only the NDC and the President who seem to understand everything the EC does. The impression one gets is that the EC is implementing the NDC's roadmap. This is a recipe for a civil war. Mark my words "Civil war awaits Ghana if the NDC wins the impending elections".

When Kuffour appointed judges in cases where he had personal interest to adjudicate where were you.Was then no checks and balances. You find the EC chairman a strong character who is confident in the task before her.It seems to me this very great trait scares the life out of you because she won't allow anybody to rig the elections.
If you think without given this lady the chance to work but want it your way will amount to civil war, bring it on.You will be routed,it is only cowards who talk of war.You can frighten yourself and no one else.

There is everything wrong with the way our EC was appointed. The constitution allows the President to appoint but a wise President will use a rational process to appoint the most qualified person for the task! All the talk about no nonsense approach to the ECs job is a recipe for disaster. The job requires tact and pragmatism, all of which the current EC seems to lack! Ghana's constitution needs to be overhauled because of the several loopholes! Otherwise we are sitting on a time bomb!
