I can say for a fact that you are a poor economist. It is obvious that the sacrifices made during the Rawlings years of structural adjustment led to the growth we had under the Kufuor government. Indeed, the growth started in the last years of NDC1 and carried on in the NPP years under Kufuor . In fact, what we see as growth in the Kufuor years is because the economy had been stagnant for so long that any small growth was seen as a huge impact. Common sense will tell you that when a person who has ten houses builds ten more, he has grown 100% but when a person who has 100 houses builds ten more, he has only grown by 10%.The same with the growth of national economies. The high percentages we saw during the Kufuor years only indicated that our economy was actually a non-economy and had been so after the great Kwame Nkrumah was toppled in 1966. In a similar fashion, what we are going through today is as a result of the recklessness the NPP displayed during their tenure and we now have to make sacrifices for a better tomorrow. Hopefully, from next year we shall start reaping some of the benefits. This is why it will be wrong to bring in the NPP who take the credit while squandering the gains made through self aggrandisement.
