I even see more people, both in the cities and rural areas, use their heads, not their ass to carry loads. With this simple analogies, can all knowing Kwaku Donsuro, the Logic man, tell us what a 6 year old - who see this Kayayes around everyday, and even thinks Jerusalem is the skies above - say about the use of the head?
The book has a target readership, the class six people, so let us not make a big deal this. The kid will still use the head to carry stuff if the need arises, so by telling them the head is used to thing won't change the equation. The other thing is that, the fact that the head houses the brain and the sense organs does not mean the head is used to see, hear, smell, taste or to think. The brain is to think, eye is to see, nose to smell..........., and everywhere around the globe, the HEAD is and/or can be use to carry loads.
I asked my five year old kindergarten daughter about the uses of the head? She pensively pause, and told me it can be use to play soccer, it is use by those girls who sell in the streets In Ghana to carry stuff. She argued with me when I said the head is used to think. Her contention was that the brain is the head but the brain is rather use to think but not necessarily the head. That is the 5-year old American kid for you. American kids apply more logic than Kweku Donsuro.

What you dummies are failing to know is that teaching the kid that the head is use to carry load does not mean she will do it if other easy options are available. Besides Ghana is not a kind of the US where good road network and pavements make it easy to use stuff like wheel barrows, wagons and charts to carry loads around. So, now that the Mahama and his NDC government is taking us back to the Stone Age, the Head will continue to carry load. Until such a time that they stop the loot and share , and develop the nation, the head will primarily function as the wheel barrow. Besides no Science teacher will tell you the head is use to think. Your brains do that job.

As I was growing up, it was trendy in the seventies for chilling crews to pop bottle caps with their teeth (they even smashed beer bottles on their heads when they were angry as a sign of masculinity but paid the price with stitches and bandaid). kids at some stage in development can't learn in the abstract. they tend to relate more to concrete stuff! so to say the head is for carrying loads as a function of the head at that stage is no big deal! cuz that is what they can relate to at that stage! for example u can't teach 1+1=2 in the abstract at that tender age but rather with concrete materials such as counters and stuff!
