The life of celibacy is ALWAYS EMBACED FOR A PURPOSE: To devote one's life for a PURPOSE! TO SERVE either a community, or a course. Never for oneself, for the OTHER!!!
Celibacy, properly embraced is always good, even with the challenges it entails. Even if there are violations, it still serves a purpose.
By the way,when was the last time you ever read positive article about anyone or institution by this writer. One who doesn't see anything good in anyone, be it a person, political or religious figure or institution himself is worth examining.

thanks my brother but let me also add my voice those who think they know scripture but yet are in limbo. please refaire to the books of 1cor 7;38 and Matt 19;9to 12. in this instances, since Jesus is a celibate and Paul as a celibate, celibacy for the sake of Christ is higher than marriage and since a called catholic priest is "alter Christus"( other Christ) when he is standing in the place of Christ to celebrate the eucharist.( the marriage supper of the lamb). we should not be suprised that, in antiquities, the decipline grew up (spontaneously from the grass roots) of more and more priest likewise choosing to be celibate. let me further indicate that, the decipline was lived in different ways depending on where you were in the church. those east, priest could marry but not a bishop and with those in the west, priest and bishops are all celibate but all the same, the spirit was at work in both lungs of the church. the idear was that, celibacy was a higher calling as well as a superior practical agreement, given the responsibility of priesthood. its therefore of grate fact that, those who are truly called live by the true example of Christ and Paul as stipulated above. also remember in a hand full of nuts, you are highly likely to come across bad nuts. sorry to the primitive thinkers in this regards. even your own churches have bad pastors too. just stop castigating the Holy Roman catholic church.

I'm very sorry for the writer of this writeup. Are you saying celibacy is not part of Christianity? All because it's only Catholic priest who are celibates? Again, are you saying that homosexuals are not human beings? The fact that their actions are inhuman that doesn't take their humanity away. They are to be loved by Christians especially. Christians have to only hate their acts but not them. God love sinners Dearly but only hate sin. I think the writer himself needs salvation. No soul is supposed to be lost.
