I agree with you but do you know what Critical Thinking will do to our country? It will challenge the system, the thieves, the false pastors, the lying politicians, and the yes men and women. We are trained to be obedient and not challenge anything. We are brought up to be respectful and obey. Critical Thinking will turn these status quo upside down so the powers that be, those benefiting form the mass stupidity of the people will not encourage anyone to get wise and challenge their authority in government, in the schools and universities, churches, ministries, etc.

In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eye man is the king. Achieving high laurels over totally devastated countries Liberia and Sierra Leone makes us look like geniuses. How do we compare against other countries with stable economies? The case of Nigeria is an enigma, and I'm yet to be convinced of our superiority over them. We are all witnesses to the kind of public education our kids are receiving here in Ghana. Don't let blind political affiliation obscure your view of the reality on the ground. Ask yourself if enough is being done at all to prepare the kids from Bondugu right down to half Assini to complete even basic education successfully. The people who are praising the government on this are the very ones whose kids can't even read or write due to inadequate infrastructure and access to education. Yet it's ok with them as long as their masters in government use the money to enrich themselves and send their own children abroad for good education.

You have made a good point about inadequate infrastructure and lack of other tools to facilitate learning in Ghanaian schools but you seem to be mixing apples with oranges by relating that background negatively to the good performance of the Ghanaian candidates. Fact is poor or inadequate infrastructure does not necessarily mean poor performance against others. Government may not be doing enough to raise educational standards and the performance of Ghanaian students may be short of our expectations but it could still be better than the performance of students in other countries with better facilities. I do not know about the political affiliation of the writer but what I do know is that this award has been in existence for many years and winners are chosen by an international committee of the WAEC and not the governments of the member countries. It is therefore unclear how you came up with the idea that the report could be mere propaganda. For your information some of the past recipients of the award mentioned in the report are currently in the US and their performance? par excellent!

Ghanaian students have been winning awards long before Mahama became president of Ghana. Even under NPP, Ghanaian student were winning awards so don't let this sound political. Let's be encourage that despite all the challenges, Ghanaian kids are still doing well in the academic field. Even beyond the shores of Ghana, we still hold our own. we are not dumb as all. It is the system that has to be change to ensure that knowledge is transform into things that can help lift our people out of poverty. that is the challenge we face today. The challenge is daunting but be of good cheers. I know it looks hopeless but we will fail if we quit trying.
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana and Make Our Nation Great and Strong. Bold To Defend the Course of Freedom and of Rights.
Very profound is even our national anthem. What we need is the next Kwame Nkrumah to lead this nation once more. Rawlings had the best chance and he couldn't succeed. Maham should open his eyes and watch his appointees. We will keep trying, but definitely not short-sighted Akufo Addo. Bawumia is far better than Akufo Addo but he has proven to be a pathological liar.

Of what use is knowledge if it doesn't transform our nation? Fellow countrymen and women, let's put our political and tribal divide aside and ask ourselves why we are so good academically but our nation is struggling to develop. When we gained independence almost 60 years ago, Ghana was far better than South Korea. Today, South Korea is an industrial giant and an envy of many nations. Today, even Vietnam and Burma (Myanmar) are doing better than the land of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. "Did we go or did we come"?
