the Igbos in Nigeria have a saying: "that if one gives a proverb and another finds it difficult to understand, the later's father ought to go back and collect the dowry paid to the later's mother's family." i think the president translated directly from the Akan adage: dwanfunu nsuro sekan. if so how can somebody posit that the president referred to himself as a dead goat {dwanfunu}. in as much as that statement from the president was unfounded, we should no appeal to unnecessary religious sympathy by making inference from scriptures that have nothing to do with the proverb to score cheap political points. God is a good God and could not have cursed 'goats'. check the definition of parable from theological books and not dictionaries in order to situate the real meaning of the gospel pericope to your assertions. proper exegesis of the passage will give you a good insight as to why Jesus used that passage to teach about how the judgment will be. thanks. lets pray that our country will continue to grow from strength to strength.

The writer's analogy of proverbial 'dead goat syndrome' and biblical metaphorical 'sheep and goats' representing 'saints and sinners' is misleading exercise.
