Say what you will, I fear the ex-Minister brought this upon himself.
His exciting yet misguided declarations and promises about how he was going to solve the energy crisis at the time of his appointment were both needless and unwise.
How could anyone understanding the history of the power and energy situation in Ghana, and with sound knowledge os the simple Demand and Supply side dynamics of the problem make such bold statements as - "judge me on my words - I will resign if Dumsor is not completely resolved by ..... on my watch".
I guess he has either not read enough or not followed recent political history - George H. Bush, then US Vice-President and running for his one and only term as president of the United Sates famously promised - "READ MY LIPS, NO MORE TAXES". What did he do afterwards? Your guess is as good as mine. Of course he lost the next election to a little known 'journey-man' from the small State of Arkansas and the rest as we all know is history.
Lesson One: As a politician, NEVER MAKE PROMISES YOU SIMPLY CANNOT KEEP AND ESPECIALLY ON ISSUES FOR WHICH YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE CONTROL such as power supply and demand. Is that a cure for high blood pressure? Perhaps! by the way, good luck to the ex-minister
