Thank You very much. I thought I was the only one who have concerns about this. I was recently in Ghana and happened to make my way to Nkrumah circle, what I witnessed was akin to the biblical days of lawlessness. What is going on there is a major accident waiting to happen.
In any civilize society when a major construction of this sort is going on the area is sealed off from the public, besides every worker and visitors are made to wear a safety helmet.
I will not be surprise to read of a catastrophic incident at the site and sadly that will be when you will hear our leaders tweeting their condolences and expressing their shock. We tend to celebrate anniversaries of deadly incidents but we don't seem to learn from it.
About a decade ago, one of such terrible incident happened at the Kumasi Sports Stadium and you will expect that, our authorities will do their best to avoid similar incident in a crowd gathering places like that. However, Accra Sports Stadium today is like a death trap.
Our country may not be rich but avoiding the common occurrence of people dying en masse from accidents does not always need riches. Let's use what we acquired from the classrooms and from reading. It will definitely save us and our nation.

Nkrumah was a communist dictator and Mr. Ashanti is communist relic. The white man left us with a parliamentary system in which the prime minister can go on ruling as long as he remains the leader of his party and the party also wins power every five years.
When Nkrumah lost his parliamentary seat at Bokum Square in Accra, and was no longer eligible to enter parliament let alone become prime minister of the country, he changed the system into a corrupted presidential/parliamentary system in which the checks and balances of both systems were removed, leaving him with absolute powers and later on turned Ghana into a one party state.
If Nkrumah had wanted to rule Ghana throughout his life and has the support of the electorate to renew his mandate every five years credibly, there was no problem because the system supports that and we saw Tony Blaire ruling for more than ten years and finally relinquished power to Brawn in his third five year term. But the system also has its own checks and balances embedded in it, and we saw what happened to Margaret thatcher in 1990.
Like Nkrumah, Mr. Ashanti wants us to remain in the presidential system without real separation of powers as found in the Rawlings Green Book Constitution, and without 2-term limit to enable the relics turn our country into another one party state. Let Mr. Ashanti get it into his head that we can either choose a parliamentary system without term limits or the presidential system with limits and real separation of powers.
