  Good article but I sincerely believe we do not need this office at the presidency for the following reasons:
  
  1. Creating the office will be a duplication of effort. What rather should be done should be to empower and resource the existing agencies to carry out their duties. Thereafter, monitoring should be key to success.
  
  2. Setting up Public Safety office at the presidency will only cost the task payer more. The National security has an emergency task force which should be empowered to work in synergy with other stakeholders in the Public Safety domain to curtail wanton destruction of lives and property in emergencies by road,sea,air,homes,work places,and in industries.
  
  3. Above all, the presidency should not be saddled with so many agencies since it undermines the effectiveness of the office of the president. Such offices end up being filled with party functionaries rather than professional competent Ghanaians. And does not inure to the benefit of the good of the citizens.
  
  Remember, the essence of public service is for the public good and not putting in so many bureaucracies that is not in the interest of the larger society.
