I thought I was reading this diatribe from Prof. Richard Dawkings, the world renowned atheist. Who gives you the right to characterize all Christians and other believers as gullible? Does the Constitution not guarantee freedom of religion and freedom of association?
Linking rough and tumble cut throat politics with the ecumenical movement is irresponsible and cavalier to say the least. And the worst you can suggest to the eschatological Christian is to take inspiration or cue from the drug addicts Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. Trust me my friend, there is a higher calling than that.

I have written about Molefi Kete Asante, Francis Collins, Cheikh Anta Diop, Ama Mazama, Kwame Botwe-Asamoah, Kofi Kissi Dompere, and several others who are religious and intelligent.
My characterization is therefore not a blanket one. You only have to follow my train of thought and articles on Ghanaweb (elsewhere) to know that I have covered both sides on the religious non-religious spectrum. On the latter, I have briefly discussed Stephen Hawking, Neil deGraase Tyson, Craig Vener, etc. I don't discriminate when one's work is scientific.
And as for Richard Dawkins, it is not everything he says that I agree with. I am deeply familiar with his work though.
Bro Yeboah I think some of our leading Christian figures are drug addicts. Obinim could be one.
However, I am concerned about the religious demagoguery and charlatantry going on in the country. Did Duncan - Williams praying for the Cedi's fall and Obinim stepping on pregnant women's belly and retrieving passports from the spiritual world make sense to you?
Or the Kenyan pastor who instructs her his church's female members not to wear undies? Or Owusu-Bempah's apocalyptic prophecies? How about Kweku Bonsam?
The church today also needs the sort of revolution Otabil is calling. Our problem is not only with secular politics. Religious quackery is on the ascendancy and most churchgoers I know of are afraid to deal with it.
That is not to say I am what you may think I am or not. I see a lot of rot in the modern church just as I do in secular politics. And this has nothing to do with theism and atheism. And yes, there is more to human existence and this universe than meets the eye.

Are you not being presumptuous by characterizing all Christians as gullible? Are you also not throwing the baby out with the bathwater by lambasting the Christian faith? To insist on your vituperation of the church vis-a-vis political milieu is to dwell needlessly on a false dichotomy. The two human institutions are mutually exclusive and your attack on especially the church, using characters like Bob Marley and Peter Tosh as your reference points belies the deficiency in your knowledge of the role of the church in society.
There is good in every human institution, be it the church or politics. The danger in your position is thinking you hold the key to the approbation or interlocutory preserve of matters relating to the church and politics.
