  And the reach of executive president should not be underestimated. He will do everything humanly possibly to separate the 2 ex-detainees and send them somewhere to be closely monitored by security personnels; the 2 Gitmo detainees are obviously not joined at the hip.
  I see the brouhaha as nothing but election year tea in the cup.

  It is quite clear that transferring the Guantanamo two was negotiated for between Ghana and the US.What was negotiated for is clearly unknown to Ghanaians.It is not true,when the President said that they were let in out of compassion while in reality agreements were negotiated and signed for.Why will American senators threaten Ghana with penalties if the two manage to escape, if compassion is all that Ghana offered?.?.The administration must be truthful with Ghanaians.

  To classify GITMO 2 as alleged terrorists is to impugn the integrity and palpable fear of all those who oppose the ill-fated transfer to Ghanaian soil. These terrorists were accused of training with Al-Qaeda and fighting with the Taliban. One would say it is a mere accusation.
  
  But let us examine the activities of Mr. Bin Atef for instance. Mr. Bin Atef was a survivor of a well-known weeklong fight in late November 2001 at the Qala-i-Jangi fortress near Mazar-i-Sharif, where the Northern Alliance had taken hundreds of captured Taliban and foreign fighters.
  
  During an uprising among the prisoners, a C.I.A. paramilitary operative was killed, as were hundreds of the captured fighters, many of whom had spent days hiding in tunnels that Northern Alliance forces flooded with water. The C.I.A does not accuse Mr. Bin Atef of personal involvement in the C.I.A. operative’s death, however he was part of the Taliban group that attacked the Northern Alliance.
  
  Regarding Mr. Dhuby, we know that in spite of being mostly compliant with the guard force as a Guantánamo detainee, he had participated in protests by the prisoners and had threatened guards, including vowing to find out their identities and “sneak into their homes and cut their throats like sheep.”
  
  There is clear and imminent danger facing our country - these people are trained killing machines, and we must be very careful in the way we present them to the public. The fact that US did not want to keep them on their soil despite its strong intelligence gathering ability, and their adopted country, Yemen, is not interested in hosting them, should be a deep cause for concern for our people. And your characterization of these killers as "alleged" terrorist does nothing to assuage the awareness required for this palpable danger in our midst.
