In the case of Ho, I personally felt that the best institution to convert into a University should have been the BISHOP HERMAN COLLEGE located at Kpando. Sadly this Uni was placed at Ho (Sokode).
I visited this College only once, but its environment remains too fresh in my memory. It's superb fro University.
Your statement "....that it was a previous western college of KNUST which was strategically located because of its proximity to the mines to providing practical hand on experience to students..." is rather incorrect. The Tarkwa Technical Institute was there long before; then it was Tarkwa Shool of Mines before the UST's Institute of Mining and Mineral Engineering "absorbed" it.
In any case, most of your points make good sense.

Somanya is part of the Accra plains which is already congested. There are a lot if institutions in Accra which is in the same corridor as Somanya. NDC disrespected the chiefs and people of Eastern. Mahama never consulted them in the location of the University.
