So Afrocentric Nkrumah too succumb to the dictates of America? Read:"While VALCO consumed 80 percent of the power generated from Akosombo, three countries, Ghana, Togo and Benin, depended on the remaining 20 percent." Charity, they say, begins at home. Food for thought for the later days Nkrumahists. While Bono-Ahafo and the entire Northern part of Ghana was not connected to the National Grid, visionary Nkrumah, the greatest African of all time, saw the need to supply Togo and Benin with electricity. This is hypothetic to me. So, is the black man really capable to manage his own affair as some people want us to believe?

When the new president Obama choose to visit Ghana on his first African tour, all Ghanaians were beating their chests, including the clergy. Ghanaians all over the world were excited and those at home were glued to their television sets.As a people we should understand the need to strengthen partnerships and work side by side with our partners,be it political, economics, education, defense.Accepting 2 Guantanamo Bay prisoners will should not jeopardize our relationship with America,we can handle that with ease, more than 30 other countries are on record to have received some more prisoners from Guantanamo Bay.As a nation,we should not be on the receiving end only,we must prove to our partners that we have come of age and are capable of taking minor risks. It is also important to show that we are team players .All those clergies who lined up to shake hands with president Obama must be ashamed of themselves, all those politicians who want to strain the Ghana-America relationship for personal gains, must understand more will be asked of them when they win power,it is not over yet,America will always ask something back from her partners and it is hard to say No.We must resolve to win some and lose some.
