Hey Mahmoud, Ive been looking for you but I understand and appreciate the fact that because Francis has not made himself available to be stalked by you and your ilk on this platform, you also have understandably, not had anything to SAY OR write about. What a pity. Dont worry. I will persuade Francis to try and at least drop one about Nkrumah once a while to keep you alive and bring meaning tom your life.
Anyway the reason I was looking for you was because I was hoping to read or hear your views about detention without trial in America and the subsequent transformation of Ghana, under the instructions of the worlds 'strongest' democratic state, into one of their many detention centers around the world.
Now that your slave-master who taught you to vehemently rile and rant against any acts of detention without trial, is now also engaged in that apparently sordid act, what are you doing about it? Are you going to forgive Nkrumah who also detained a few terrorists without trial for a couple years or, are you now on principle going to also rant and rave against your slave master?

Actually, there is a glut of oil on the world market right now and it is going to get worse now that US sanctions against Iran has been lifted and Iran is most likely going to increase its oil output soon and that would have a very negative impact on oil prices.
In 2014, oil was around US$100.00 a barrel. Today it is sitting in the $28 - $30 range, thanks in part to US advances in shale gas production by way of hydraulic fracturing. If the experts are right, oil prices will decline even further.

Black gold,
You are correct - there's been a glut on the oil market, engineered primarily by Saudi Arabia, a strategy aimed in part against Iran.
Hydraulic fracturing is economically feasible in the US because of oil refining and storage capacity, and "outsourced" costs of externalities. In part, producers do not now pay for polluted ground waters, and the increasing numbers of earthquakes in "fracturing areas".
But the "fracturers" soon may!
The case for Nigeria, on the other hand, straddles "glut" and "cut", if we are talking about fuel, as "oil product".
Fact is, Nigeria, with all its oil, does not have oil refining capacity.
To cut to the chase, from Wiki:
"...It is estimated that demand and consumption of petroleum in Nigeria grows at a rate of 12.8% annually.[10] However, petroleum products are unavailable to most Nigerians and are quite costly, because almost all of the oil extracted by the multinational oil companies is refined overseas, while only a limited quantity is supplied to Nigerians themselves..."

Unfortunately I did not say there is a cut in oil production anywhere. Please don't misrepresent my ideas.
For your information, I meant a cut in oil prices across board. If it were so as your gross misrepresentation of the article seems to imply, Nigeria, for instance, will have to increase production to meet its revenue targets.
Oil production has increased worldwide, which is why there are drastic cuts in oil price, explaining the economic dilemmas of Nigeria and other major oil-producing countries. Nigeria Has been increasing oil production in the past few decades.
Don't also forget that hydraulic fracturing has greatly contributed to oil glut on the international market. Hydraulic fracturing is predicted to make America a force in the oil and gas industry.
So please, go back and read again. But closely. Pay attention to the assumptions. I never said any of the things you attribute to me.
Thanks

Francis, you may not have said directly there is a cut in oil production. But you did say that by inference: "...drastic CUTS in oil products on the international markets are being felt in the Nigerian economy." The emphasis is on the word CUT. There is no cut in oil products...the opposite is true: there is a GLUT and therefore an over supply.

In fact, I made a terrible mistake of not going back to the essay and reading it again before responding to your comments.
And you know why? I still had "oil PRICES" rather than "oil PRODUCTS" in my head even as I responded to your question. To tell you the truth, I meant "PRICES" rather than "PRODUCTS."
I hope I am forgiven for relying exclusively on my memory rather than on my written words. I accept your re-interpretation in good faith. This is because you based your interpretation on the way I worded my that part of the essay.
Please read my next piece "OF THE EXECUTIVE PRESIDENCY & THE FUTURE OF THE GHANA'S OIL INDUSTRY."
Have a great weekend.
