I see the way you have written your article learning from Dr MJ Bokor, good work! Keep on learning from Dr Bokor, but here you mingled too many issues in just one article making it too confused to pinpoint anything serious for scrutiny and criticisms. Perhaps you will be the best-second writer of our generation after Dr Bokor.

Dear Author,
„Might be true, but we can expose it. Check your last prepaid bill. I bought GH¢300 over the Xmas period and I got 452 units. This means it cost me 66p/unit. The Ameri tariff is 14.5918 cents/KWh. At an exchange rate of GHC4:$1 it makes GH¢58.37. It is no coincidence that the consumer tariff was increased to cover the impending Ameri tariff. This is no conspiracy theory; many of the players in this arena are all appointed by the President and their testicles sit in his palm. They will do as the master bids and the master has many voices acting in his name.“
Franky, it is very late where I am writing from, and excepting my being weary and thus probably overlooking some major information in the above paragraph, it is very difficult to agree with your line of reasoning and the conclusion you draw.
My analysis is as follows:
Converting all tariffs to one base, assuming an exchange rate of GHC4: US$1, working to three decimal places maximum, and finally, ceteris paribus, we have:
a) 66p/unit (Kwh) 16,5 US cents/ KWh or US$ 0,165/KWh (as at now)
b) AMERI tariff is US$ 0,146 /KWh (under AMER)
For 452 units consumed, again ceteris paribus, we have the following billing:
i) 452 Units x US$ 0,165/KWh = US 74,58 (GHC 300) for the current stiuation
ii) Under AMERI, we have 452KWh x US$ 0,146 /KWh or US 65,992 or GHC 263,968
It turns out the tariff is going to be even lower under AMERI. Hence your bill would be even lower under AMERI for the same consumption level. Is this an unintended consequence (aberration) resulting from an error in the information you provided or a result of faulty analysis on your part?
