Charles this is an excellent analysis. I have admiration for the NDC regarding how it has managed to free itself from the domination of Jerry Rawlings and his wife, and become a true political party. I am not saying it has performed well in power; however it is now a formidable force and even after the death of Jerry Rawlings it is likely to be intact, contesting elections and probably coming to power.
The CPP/Nkrumahists are finished since they still cling to their dear departed leader. The NPP for its part is on the verge of an internal implosion as it has become so arrogant, assuming it is the apple of the voter's eye. Instead of building cohesion and consensus within, as Kufuor did, what is going on is the making of a cult through hero worship (Nana Addo and Bawumia seem to be gods, gods of defeat though) and the purge of persons with dissenting views. Another defeat in 2016 will be dreadful for the party and a further defeat in 2020 (assuming they put Bawumia forward as he will have no image or message of victory to sell given he would have lost 3 elections)then the NPP will probably be buried for good.
As you righlty note the only thing saving NPP is that there is no 3rd force for if there was GHanaians would have flocked to its banner given the NPP#s ow self-created mess

NDC flies on the wings of rigging elections and has still not got the men and programmes to improve upon the well being of the people. Once bitten twice shy so we will be vigilant next time. With impeccable track record the people of Ghana know which of the two parties will meet their aspirations. No matter the confusion, NPP will emerge stronger to win 2016. Still no shaking.
