A time will come and is very near when there will be no teacher in our schools IF our leaders choose to follow this trend. I forever regret becoming a teacher in Ghana!!!!

Thank you very much Esther. It is very true!!!!! The government must support teachers in their efforts to ensure students’ successes in our schools. We cannot talk about raising student achievement without supporting the very people who will make this happen. All the stakeholders in education must support teachers with incentives to achieve ongoing teaching excellence for our students.

Seriously, Pepeni, I think the sticker: If you can read this, thank a teacher is losing its relevance on some politicians. It is disturbing to trace the soar relationship that has developed between the government of the Ontario Province of Canada and teachers in the province. Such was the relationship which characterized the tension between teachers in Ghana and the NPP as well as the NDC governments some years back in that country too!
