I agree with everything suggested by the renowned publishing company except that I don't believe in the existence of different codes of conduct for junior and senior cops. If this is what prevails in our police service then we have a long way to go in the business of policing.
Somehow, on its inception, someone decided call it the Ghana Police Service but from the way the police conducts itself I think the "service" connotation is a misnomer. The Ghana Police Service simply means the Police organization of Ghana is service oriented. Being service providers means there has to be a customer base. We the people are the customers and the police organization is the service provider. In suchlike relationship all the civilized world over, the customer is said to be always right. This simply means that the police service essentially owes its existence to a well catered for and a satisfied customer base, the public. Let it be told without any ambiguity thatThe Ghana Police Service as it's presently constituted is acting contrary to its name description. It's an occupational force rather a service provider. Service providers treat their customers with the utmost respect and dignity except in extreme cases where some force may be used appropriately. Force, especially excessive force is the exception rather the rule and must be applied circumspectly and under extreme conditions. I would also implore both the police organization and the public to respect the sanctity of life and be law abiding citizens and be constantly reminded that we're not at war with each other. Let it be told in no uncertain terms that the public needs the service provided by the police organization in much the same way as the police needs the cooperation, support and assistance of a well satisfied citizenry for both to mutually and peacefully coexist and complement each other. Lest I forget; the practice whereby the Inspector General is appointed by the sitting President must cease immediately because it renders the police organization a subsidiary of the administration and takes away its independent status. With this constitutional authority given to the President the IGP owes his job to the appointing authority instead of the people and always has to look over his shoulder while performing his duties. The police loses its respect when it's used to do the dirty work of the ruling administration. Besides they're too scared to investigate or apprehend erring administration officials unless they are specifically directed by the President. This is not good for democracy.

Those who are over 60 and attended school in Cape Coast would recall the story of Twinkle J and Lawyer Sarpong (Akouko). History repeats itself.

U didn't know anything about the case and all u wrote was bullshit. He was captured at first and then he destroyed the handcuff and as he was running away bumped into them. This infuriated them to beat him and unfortunately he had an operation earlier so that might have caused his death. Furthermore, those who went to the operation were not cape coast police as u think. Don't depend solely on media for bullshits.
