We need Ghanaians to be more sophisticated than just the rallying cry of "corruption." There needs to be specifics like the Democracy Fund to ensure funding for independent governance organizations, passing the Right to Information law, declaring assets, and more education to the masses.

You're right but how many comments did your article attract as at 6.00pm US eastern time? Just a measly 2. Our problem is surely corruption but the bigger problem is Ghanaians apathy towards the fight against corruption. They have become numbed to corruption and its effects for a number of reasons. That's a much bigger problem than corruption itself. Until people get sensitized and angry enough about the ills of corruption corrupt officials will continue to be elected and re-elected to office.

As it is obtained in the UK the government should appoint Corruption Officers in evey government organization.Their work wil be to check all corrupt practices and to receive information about corrupt practices from whistleblowers and take the appropriate action which will be to investigate any information about corruption and refer them to the police for arrest and prosecution if such an action is needed. The names of all whistleblowers should be held in strict confidence and rewarded if necessary. Those found to have caused the state to lose money through corrupt practices should have their assets confiscated and given lenghty jail sentences.
