The first meaning (more likely) is said to be JJ choosing it because he wanted the dark days to end for him during his detention for his first attempted coup. The girl was born at that time.

What extra power does being a Parlimentarian give her to undertake these investment? Does she need parliamentary approval to acquire the lands. There are only two ways of getting these lands, some from chiefs and landowners, others from government, and there is no need for parliament. Any financier can do that.

Assuming the proposed plans are true would Ms. Zanetor be the first to sell/lease parcels of land to foreign interests? The people of Osu have been selling land left and right since the 80's as evidenced in all the changes that has taken place from the Osu roundabout all the way through the infamous Can's bakery of old which is no more. The sad reality in Ghana is that we are blind to the damages taking place on our own land even as most Ghanaians are treated as second class citizens on the land they once claimed.
Is there prohibition against the sale/lease of land and or against greed and stupidity? For over 40+years we have not created jobs in Ghana capable of sustaining families neither have we been able to provide modern day housing structures for majority of Ghana's middle and lower class even as our educated and politically connected bunch steal assests and money and dispose others they cannot physically take or own. There are no rich people in Ghana who earned their riches through hard work; it's all been via government contracts, obtaining exemptions or paying as little as possible at our ports and habours even as port authority connive to take property from individuals they can screw over. Ms. Zanetor Rawlings must not become a political scapegoat for the greed that is upon us even if she of Rawlings make; she's entitled to sell Ghana as much as every Ghanaian without ideals, ideas and foresight but with an eye on the almighty cedi/dollar that motivates us all. Did we not proclaim our love and preference for a property seeking society over shared resources? The force is with us all.
