  There have been Pope's before Pope Francis and many more to come after Francis; there have been administrations since Nkrumah. These parallels abound in every African nation but the results of leadership are as diverse as tribes and languages in Africa.
  
  In Ghana there are tribes that worship money hence we tend to describe them as good with money. Then there are those others who have tried to make money by fair or foul means and failed at it; lately Ghanaians consult with traditional juju men including rituals of murder to get rich. The one thing constant about Pope Francis is his attachment to his roots; he has never forgotten where he came from; he did not have to grow up in a poor household to see lives of the poor and the realities of brutal and corrupt governments of his time. Those lessons learned earlier in his life continue to guide him in his outlook on life.
  
  Politics in Ghana is as corrosive as acid and eats even at the church. It does not help that the Ghanaian culture frowns on honesty and truthfulness. Why else would it be acceptable for people in government to steal and become heroes within their tribes and political party of membership? The qualities of Pope Francis are in us all just as the Christian Bible tells Christians there is the power to heal and save in Christians but if and only if they live Christ-like lives. We just cannot do it.
